The Gorgeous Midcentury House:

This restored Midcentury Modern Krisel designed Palm Springs Vacation home was built by the celebrated Alexander Construction Co. in 1960. Located in famous Vista Las Palmas, it has spectacular mountain views, desert landscaping, a huge swimming pool and an in-ground spa. Inside you'll find the famous Palmer and Krisel open floor plan, perfect for entertaining with family and friends, vaulted tongue and groove ceilings, entire walls of glass doors opening onto the patio and pool area, and Mid-Century furnishings.

The Kitchen and the Living Area:

The spacious kitchen is fully equipped. Enjoy gorgeous mountain views out of the clerestory windows, which fill the room with light and showcase the mountain ridge-line. The kitchen and dining room are open to the expansive living room, with its walls of sliding glass doors that let the light pour in and reveal and lead to the private pool and beautiful outdoor living spaces.

Enjoy movies on the 65” Samsung QLED SMART flat screen TV with SONOS system and home theater surround sound. Free WiFi access is available from anywhere in the house and yard.

The Bedrooms and Bathrooms:

Each bedroom has a large Samsung QLED SMART flat screen TV, luxurious linens and mattress. Each bathroom has luxurious towels and individually wrapped soap and shampoo.

The main suite boasts a modern California King sized bed as well as a 55 flat screen TV on a swing out mount for TV watching in bed. The main suite has sliding doors that open directly to the spa in the backyard and a private bathroom that has a door that opens to the backyard and the outdoor shower.

Blackout shades will afford you the opportunity to linger in bed during your relaxing vacation.

One of the bedrooms has a desk where you can comfortably work from home.

The Large Private Backyard with Stunning Views:

Outdoors, your private oasis includes multiple lounging, dining and seating areas. Enjoy the fantastic mountain views from the sleek and modern lounge chairs, the covered pool side patio or the pavilion. Relax in the pool and spa. The pool is spacious and has spectacular views of the mountains. The yard also has a bocce ball court from which you could enjoy the panoramic mountain views. Day or night, take a nap on the hammock. At night, under the star-filled moonlit sky, enjoy a tranquil moment by the Fire Pit.

The backyard is completely enclosed and private. This home is located on the closest street to the mountains yet the hikers cannot peer into this particular yard.

Picture yourself enjoying cocktails or sharing a bottle of wine or champagne and toasting the warm Palm Springs sun as it sets behind the mountains. A great escape for just the two of you, or perfect for entertaining your entire group!

The Amazing Neighborhood and Street:

The neighborhood is a classic Mid-Century Modern area with every house looking authentic and ready for a photo shoot. Vista Las Palmas is the only neighborhood in Palm Springs without power lines blocking the view of the beautiful mountains and palm trees. In addition, this street is so close to the mountains you could feel its presence, which is great for meditation and yoga - or a SELFIE. Its proximity to the base of the San Jacinto Mountains keeps it sheltered from much of the wind and means a quicker escape from the late afternoon sun. NO AIRPLANE NOISE

The location is close (1 mile or a 20 minute walk) to wonderful restaurants, the Uptown Design District and Downtown Palm Springs. It is also close to hiking, golf, tennis and a quick drive to Palm Desert. Whether your ideal Palm Springs vacation includes sports, shopping or relaxing, this home is convenient to all of it. The house is located within walking distance to the Elvis Honeymoon house and the Kaufman Desert house.

The pool is heated at your option for $69/night. If you would like the pool heated during your stay, please inform the owner.

There is one camera and it is located in the front of the house facing the front yard and driveway - it does not capture anything in the house or in the backyard. If you cover or block it from filming, you will be charged $500 and be evicted.

The City of Palm Springs requires a lot of rules for a host and guest to follow in all vacation rentals in Palm Springs. As onerous as they might sound, these rules create an environment for a very relaxing and enjoyable stay in Palm Springs. They must be followed.

Rules:

Responsible Guest (the person who booked this property) must be at least 30 years of age and must check-in and stay at the house and ensure that the City rules are followed. The Responsible Guest must be available at the house during check-out.

The Responsible Guest must provide a usable email address for communication.

The City of Palm Springs requires guests to follow the rules set forth in the City of Palm Springs Good Neighbor Brochure, a copy of which will be provided to you.

The City Of Palm Springs requires a copy of the government issued photo ID of the responsible guest for each booking.

All of Palm Springs is subject to a strict noise ordinance that is enforced by the City of Palm Springs. OUTDOOR MUSIC IS NOT ALLOWED. Indoor music that can be heard outside of the house is not allowed.

*People noise during the day is permissible but must be measured and reasonable. Daytime is considered 10:00 am to 10:00 pm. In all of Palm Springs, there is a quiet time for vacation rentals from 10:00 pm to 10:00 am meaning no noise that can be heard beyond the property.

Violation of the noise ordinance or Good Neighbor Policy will result in citation of at least $500 directly from the City of Palm Springs, eviction, loss of fees and deposit. There is no warning, the City of Palm Springs sends code enforcers to monitor each home for violations and immediately cites guests.

The homes and yards in this neighborhood are well maintained. As a result, throughout the neighborhood there might be construction projects and landscapers working. With that in mind, you might hear the occasional buzz from the work being done to maintain the homes.

    We loved our stay at this home. The home is in a great location. We walked to the center of downtown every day. The kitchen was well stocked. The outdoor living area was ideally set up. The pool was a great size and very clean. We have rented many homes in Palm Springs over the years and this one has been our favorite.

    Our family has stayed at this house many times over the years. There is nothing that the house lacks, and it is perfectly clean and organized, but also beautifully designed and decorated. The pool is perfect, the outdoor lounge and dining areas are very comfortable, the grill, bocce court and firepit are all that you could want for your outdoor fun. We love waking to the bird song under the warm glow of the sunrise on the hills, and listening to the coyotes howling from the mountainside after dark, while star gazing. It feels like you are in a remote, peaceful area at the end of the city, yet it's only minutes away from the shops and restaurants.We'll return again and again.

    Our stay at Steve’s house was perfect. The house is tastefully decorated and absolutely immaculate. The kitchen was the most well-stocked kitchen of any rental I’ve ever stayed in. We thoroughly enjoyed spending time in the yard which offered multiple options for sun lovers and shade seekers. All the outdoor furniture was super comfortable, and the best part is, you can sit back and gaze upon the San Jacinto mountains as you enjoy the yard and pool! Overall, it is a wonderful place, and we hope to visit again soon!

    Perfectly restored without losing key architectural elements like the natural wood ceilings, clerestory windows, carport, pool access from the master bath, etc. Perfect furnishings that enhance the design without drawing too much attention. Perfect pool location that allows use in the mountain’s afternoon shadow. Perfect neighborhood for walking and architecture viewing.
