Meadows Mill House II, an 1830's grist mill in a past life, now serves as a fully functional modern day residence. During your stay in the carriage house, we encourage our visitors to explore waterfalls, relax by the fire and simply take it all in. Centrally located between historic Opelika, Auburn and Columbus Georgia- all with plenty to do. So grab a friend, bring your family, we look forward to seeing you here soon at Meadows Mill!
Beautiful and quaint! Host was easy to communicate with and very accommodating!
This is a charming home that is perfect for a romantic getaway or a personal retreat. Bring a bottle of wine for the evening and croissants for breakfast with your coffee as you enjoy the view of the creek on the screened in porch.
This cabin on Uchee creek is simply beautiful. Everything you need and nothing that you don't. The scenery is magnificent. It's quiet, rustic and a gorgeous place to stay. There's a well stocked Dollar General 5 minutes away and it's only a 20 minute or so drive to the Auburn area. We will be staying here again!!
We visited Auburn University on a football game weekend. The cabin is about 20 minutes from campus. We arrived after dark and had to drive by a couple of times to make sure we had the right place. (My fault though for not throughly reading the checkin instructions on location!) The cabin itself is charming, super clean, and the host emailed to check on us several times. I wish we had had time to enjoy the outdoor spaces! We would definitely stay here again.
The Meadows Mills House is wonderfully renovated but still maintains it’s original character and charm! It is welcoming and cozy and makes the most efficient use of space. The natural surroundings are beautiful and instantly calming. Host thought of everything - binoculars were a nice touch as were the yoga mats and weights on the screened back porch for a morning workout! Joseph is very responsive and accommodating. Highly recommend. We will be back!
Everything is as advertised and even more so! We were only there two nights and wished we could have stayed longer. We locked ourselves out and Joseph answered instantly on. Saturday night to assist us in accessing the home again. Remarkable weekend. Would definitely return.
Hard to believe in just a one bedroom cottage everything that was needed was provided and in such a homey and inviting way. But no need to stay inside when you have the great outdoors to enjoy either on a screened in porch or on nice cushioned lawn chairs in the sun. The background noise is so soothing and the setting so peaceful.
The last 10 miles on the way to the property got us excited to see our secluded Vrbo because we felt like we were in the middle of nowhere..perfect! When we pulled in the rock driveway we immediately saw “the falls” and realized we’d be able to hear the Creek from our screened in porch, Jackpot! Our Vrbo is sitting right next the renovated & historic Meadows Mill House. The inside and backyard of our Vrbo is much more impressive than the outside. Everything is exactly as described but just a heads up about 2 things. 1) The couch lays completely flat (we didnt realize for 2 nights) so take the back of the couch down. :) 2) This Vrbo is right next to a rural road, you will definitely hear cars/trucks at night unless you use the powerful sound machine that was provided. (worked great for us.) Great experience, enjoyed wading through the creek with our dog. Joseph the Host was a pleasure to communicate with and promptly answered our questions.
If you are looking for a relaxing weekend get away then this is the place. The sounds of nature and the creek are very soothing. My only suggestion would be to bring a portable stove or grill if you plan on staying in for dinner. Lovely place
We felt our blood pressure lower as soon as we walked out onto the screened porch overlooking a beautiful large creek. Our stay was perfect.
The cabin was absolutely perfect and everything we needed - simply beautiful and so relaxing. Just perfect!!
This is such a magical spot! Everything was perfect and the description was just like it said! Beautiful and the host was top notch! I am definitely staying here again
Lovely, historic, little gem. The creek is inviting and peaceful. We spent the majority of the time on the screened in porch just listening to the sounds of the water and relaxing. Just what we needed, a restful weekend for our Anniversary.
Well featured historic environment in old mill estate. Once we settled in with the little kitchenette we had an excellent relaxing time. The view from the screened in back porch or the deck over the creek with its rapids couldn‘t be better. The country road provides some traffic noise in the morning and is quiet at night.
Gorgeous hidden gem, perfect for our anniversary get away. Stunning piece of history that has been well preserved. We will definitely be back.
It was a neat property, but we were surprised by the neighborhood behind it. It wasn’t noisy, but we had thought it was more remote because of the pictures. Also, the road is very close to the bedroom windows, so rather than water sounds, we heard cars much more clearly. The property is really pretty though, and the screen porch was a wonderful place to sit and watch the creek! The host was easy to communicate with through the app too.
The property met the exact description we read when booking it. Absolutely loved the fireplace and enjoyed hearing the water as we were laying down to sleep. Extremely clean and detailed. 10/10 will recommend to anyone wanting some 1 on 1 time with their partner especially. It was nice.
Beautiful restored and converted Meadows Mill is a perfect getaway. The cabin is a perfect place for a couple to stay. A huge stone fireplace, wide plank floors and shiplapped walls take you back in time. There are very few distractions in this elegant simply decorated cabin with all your attention is pulled through the back-door to Uchee Creek. You can hear the dam roar and we were lucky enough to watch the changes as rain fell in the area. The sound of water spilling over the dam was so soothing. The furniture was comfortable and we slept well in the queen bed. Large bathroom with a clawfoot tub right by a window overlooking the creek. Check in and out was easy. Joseph was kind enough to bring extra wood just minutes after we inquired about it. The cabin is located in a peaceful area but you have conveniences within a short drive. If you are looking for a place to disconnect from a busy life this place will take you back to a simpler time.
Awesome host, property was represented fairly & exactly as expected. I will visit again!
This is such a beautiful and peaceful place. We rented this place for my daughter and her matron of honor the night before her wedding. Joseph is an awesome host. He made sure we had everything we needed! He was very quick to respond and made the check in/out process very easy. We will definitely be back!!
