That's about all we can say about this house. We arrived late after flying in to it being 66 degrees in the house. The thermostat is in a lock box so I had to message the host to request that they turn the temperature up, which I hated to do so late at night, but it was so cold! The host did respond immediately (which was great!) and adjusted it to be set to a range of 70 - 75 degrees, but it never ever got above 70 so we were still quite chilly any time we were there. The other issue we had was with the water - if you've ever wanted to feel like a penny this place is for you! The water smelled like copper and so did you when you got out, even with strongly scented soap. Not sure if that's a normal thing in the area but it definitely wasn't ideal for us. If you have a big group and need a lot of beds, this place is great for that.
We got there late so it was really dark. The family was very helpful and polite. It accommodated 26 of us to stay together. Everything was fine however they had roaches. We say them at arrival and just thought it was an isolated occurrence but at night they came out heavy it was quite disgusting. We did not report it because we were a large group with no transportation and feared being accused of bringing the roaches or put out because of the complaint.
Great stay
It was a nice property, plenty of beds and bathrooms, we were very comfortable the property owners were close and accommodating
We had 8 adults, 5 middles, teens, and 3 littles! The 2 1/2 bathrooms were awesome! Any issues, a mail sticking up on deck and needing more towels and sheets, we’re attended to immediately! Couldn’t ask for more! Good location as well. Quiet time was tough for our family as we tend to stay up late after a day of sightseeing, play cards or dominoes but overall it was a nice easy stay!
Super cozy. Spacious. Quite. Would recommend.
This is the PERFECT place to stay for folks visiting Smallwood State Park! Great for a number of friends that are cooking up to fish the Potomac plenty of parking to accommodate multiple fishing rigs. Great and helpful owners! Great home with a number of amenities. We are enjoyed our stay and will be back!
Quiet, very large space for big groups, close to Smallwood boat ramp, plenty of room for boats
Very nice clean, safe place for fishing. We had 7 and all slept comfortably and plenty of parking. Close to Matawoman and Marshall Hall Will stay again
I’ve never rented a house before and wasn’t sure what to expect. The house was huge, clean, and tastefully decorated. Perfect for our party of nine. At one point the ice maker started making a loud noise, so I notified the owner. In no time flat, the ice maker was replaced and filled. These people are serious about accommodating guests and making them feel welcome.
