We had everything we needed for a very enjoyable holiday week at Masthope/Big Bear. The house is very comfy, just like the photos, with a large mostly private tree lined yard. Gina and Scott went out of there way to accommodate our changes and to check in to see that we had everything we needed when a large snow storm was predicted. I would definitely recommend their house without hesitation and look forward to future trips.

We had a good stay at this property - a 4.5/5.0. The location was a bit more remote than expected, in terms of proximity to the nearest grocery store, gas station, restaurants, etc. The house was comfortable, the hot water plentiful, and there were enough bedrooms/sleeping areas to accommodate our group of five. The deer were everywhere! They were friendly and seemingly quite used to people, but caution was a must when driving, day or night. Our chief recommendation would be to add more lighting in the large living room area - floor or table lamps would have been preferable in addition to the two ceiling recessed lights. The bathroom lighting could have been brighter, the ceiling fan in one of the main floor bedrooms did not work, and there were just a few ‘oddities’ (pilot light in basement fireplace and a Bluetooth light flashing behind the basement tv, for example, that would have been helpful to know about via a posting or renters’ manual so that we didn’t have to bother our hosts quite so often. We enjoyed the home, the fire pit, and the beautiful fall weather and numerous hiking opportunities in the area.

Very comfortable home. Check in and check out very easy. We had 7 people and had plenty of room. Home is well stocked. Homeowner is wonderful responding to any questions or concerns. However even though there is a fireplace and a fire pit you must get your own wood or pay 20.00. Be aware there are extra charges for not abiding by their requests. You must also pay 20.00 for leaving food in fridge, not discarding all trash etc. etc.
