Massive Beachwalk Resort Home + Pool & Golf Cart

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family, as well as my sister’s families and my parents, were all looking forward to a week at Beachwalk for several months leading up to our first extended family vacation with all the grandkids. I was looking forward to showing my extended family the resort that I had grown to love from my two previous visits. The resort is amazing! The pool, access to Lake Kai, quick access to Lake Michigan, golf cart community, and the many resort amenities make this an ideal location to relax and unwind for a week. Unfortunately, Sun King/Jester needs a complete update. The carpet is filthy. To the point where we only felt comfortable wearing our shoes everywhere in the home. Several pieces of furniture were stained, broken, or in need of repair. There was also mold in the showers, a non-working outdoor shower, grease collected in pans under the grills, water damage on the ceiling in the kitchen, and stains on some of the bedding. As a result of these items, Beach Walk resort staff came to assess and after seeing the condition of the home, offered to put us in a newly built home, not yet being rented out, for the remainder of our stay. Kristian and Erin at Beachwalk were great in helping us transition to the other home. I would recommend Beachwalk resort, however would not recommend Sun King unless they remodel and do a thorough cleaning of the home. Also, to add, the golf cart was abnormally slow and upstairs master had difficulty keeping cool, even with an added box fan. The owners should ask themselves if they would want to pay approximately 12 grand a week to stay in this home. My guess is that their answer would be, no.

We loved the proximity to the pool & parks, and it was a quick & easy walk to the beach. However, the house needs a good deep cleaning and maintenance. The floors were filthy to the point we wore shoes at all times and the doors into the house all need repairs. They were incredibly difficult to open and close. We would have loved to enjoyed more time on the front porch, but it also needed repairs and cleaned. The large back patio was nice as well, but the outdoor trash cans smelled so bad it was impossible to sit near them. Overall, the house worked but we would not return to this property.

Reviewer Comments: We have enjoyed Beachwalk Vacation rentals 4 times as an extended family. But each year, it seems the homes need more attention to maintenance and deep cleaning. The wrap around porch and deck were very grimy. No working outdoor shower. Mattresses and carpets need replacing. The master bedroom and 3rd floor bunk room could not cool properly. Serious plumbing issues occurred. Walls and trim need painting. The golf cart was very very slow. Comfortable living room furniture. Roomy kitchen with 2 refrigerators was good. Great basement space.

We need two properties for sleeping but find Sun King great for gathering in the living room and especially for cooking and serving Thanksgiving dinner. (We confess, we had to use the oven in the accompanying house, Jester to bake the dinner rolls.) The two dining areas are great to accommodate different ages,activities and games.

Very spacious, and the second house was a great seclusion for my parents. Very close to the beach and all of the Beachwalk amenities. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Needs some upgrades for the price tag. Had some birds flying in and out of screened porch bc of broken screens and missing wood. TV worked very poorly. Rentals should all have a subscription for price we pay. Grills were partially working and leaking grease all over the deck. Garage spot was fill with so much stuff we had to move stuff to get a car in. 5 cars will not fit without a garage spot. Outside shower does not work which makes a sandy mess inside. Overall we still had plenty of fun and basement was great place for the kids. We love Beachwalk resort and just wanted owners to know what they might want to consider moving forward.
