Located in a quiet leafy street on the sunny side of Warburton and just a short walk from the town centre, Margate is a charming cottage that is sure to enchant and delight you.
This home-away-from-home has been lovingly restored by its artisan owners and boasts a bohemian vintage ambience with a bold gypsy-like flair. Adding to the magic of this unique home is the vibrant canvas of colour throughout, beautiful lead light windows, and crafted French doors adding to the light and airy feel.
However it is stunning views towards Mount Donna Buang and Mount Victoria, the majestic tall timbers of yesteryear and the local flora and fauna that will work their magic and truly captivate.
Wake to birdsong each morning, with resident kookaburras, bower birds, an owl and visiting parrots and magpies to name a few. Bask in the morning sunlight as it streams in through the windows or drenches one of the two verandahs/ outdoor entertaining areas. Escape the summer heat on the second verandah which offers a cool breezy retreat and superb sunset views.
There are plenty of spaces for relaxing with a spacious lounge featuring an open fire place and French doors extending out onto a verandah, a roomy country-style kitchen and a second verandah with a long banquet- style table, perfect for sharing any sized feast, lazy brunch or leisurely tipple.
Filled with natural light , the three bedrooms are generous in size with easy access storage for your belongings.
Vintage board games, books and magazines together with skittles, balls and even tennis racquets for the local tennis courts will keep everyone of all ages entertained. There is a computer nook in the lounge area but you'll need to hotspot with your phone as there is no WIFI access .
A comfortable temperature ( in both hot and cold weather ) is easily maintained by a large split system. Additional portable heaters, a cooling unit and fan are provided to maintain temperature if the bedroom doors are closed off from the split system for privacy. The split system offers adequate heating so the wood supply provide for the open fire is for an ambience touch in the evenings.

Margate certainly has lots of character! We loved relaxing on the deck after a long day of bushwalking. Great location too.

We loved our two nights in this colourful, cosy and quirky cottage with wonderful views and avian entertainment by Kookaburras, Galahs, Rosellas. Two generous verandas were delightful to sit on and it was easy to make ourselves at home and a convenient location.

We loved staying here, each room has its own luscious bohemian feel, there are great books to read and the guitar works! The setting is gorgeous overlooking the mountains, we got a stunning sunset and no fewer than nine kookaburras laughing their way into the night. The beds were so comfortable, I'm going to say the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in at a holiday rental! :) The kitchen is rustic and filled with helpful utensils, sharp knives (gasp!), and an array of chai teas to choose from. Best of all, we loved receiving our greeting hamper of local organic wine and chocolate. The house is close to the shops, a few minutes in a car or on a bike, and maybe 15-20 minutes on foot. Be ready for steep hills! Thanks for a lovely stay.

I spent 4 nights at the property with my daughter. A very charming and comfortable house close to town. The beds were very comfortable and there were so many areas to sit, relax and chill out which is what we wanted to do.

The communications with the owner were excellent and the house itself was beautifully furnished. There were also large rooms and verandahs. The view from the site was magnificent and ever-changing in the light. There was a minor problem with the plumbing, though. The water pipes made a very loud noise when the taps were turned on.

This ticked all the boxes and comes highly recommended. We loved the fireplace and playing games in front of it at night. The complementary local bottle of wine and slab of chocolate is a wonderful touch, and much appreciated. If you are looking for a place to reconnect as a family and spend quality time away from technology, this is the place!

We loved our stay at Margate. Everything we needed to relax and rejuvenate after a busy year dealing with COVID. During the day we explored the area including the temperate rainforest, national park, redwood forest & waterfalls. Beds were super comfortable & we had quiet evenings in front of the fire with drinks, board games & music. Loved the ambience of the vintage decor & furniture, and there are two very comfortable decks where you feel so high you could be sitting in the trees with the cockatoos, kookaburras, rosellas and other birds. One deck gets the sun in the morning with a comfy lounge suite for your morning coffee & the other has lovely shade & a barbecue for the evening. We also really appreciated the complimentary bottle of red & chocolate on arrival! A hidden gem!! Shush... don’t tell anyone.
