Stayed Aug 22, 2025We booked this VRBO back in May. I had a question after I booked it so I messaged the host. It took them 3 months to respond to my question. I didn’t think anything of it at the time, but definitely red flag number 1. We went on our trip out of Fort Lauderdale and then 24 hours prior to the stay, I still didn’t have my check-in and arrival information. I found that strange so I reached out and she responded saying she forgot to tell us that the “city wasn’t allowing her to rent it short term anymore” and that she had to cancel my stay. She gave us less than 24 hours to find other arrangements even though we planned months in advance. But what if I hadn’t reached out and we showed up to the rental? Another red flag. She then stated I would get a full refund, but another 24 hours later and the refund still had not been issued. Again, red flag. I reached out to VRBO customer service and finally I was able to get my refund initiated. Do not recommend booking with this host - terrible customer service and horrible communication.
