A little about this perfectly located beach town cottage.
Maldon is one of Wallaroo's old stone cottages built from local lime stone and the granite used as ballasts in the old ships that sailed over from Wales to load the copper mined in the area in the mid 1800's.
Maldon has just undergone a total revitalization right through out, renovated totally by our family with children pitching in. We have renovated with family holidays in mind so all is family friendly.
This 3 bedroom cottage has Baltic pine flooring along with Jarrah in the kitchen. Painting has been done with your health in mind with all final coats done in low VOC paint and calm colours in the bedrooms and main lounge while the white adds freshness to the other living and amenities areas. The kitchen is a unique handmade exposed industrial theme with natural Oregon benches.
Getting together with friends or you have a large family is a cinch as there is plenty of room in a separate large dining room with an extendable 8 seater dinner or outside in the awesome Alfresco BBQ area where you can comfortably seat 8 while nestled amongst the old stone walls from 100 plus yrs ago.
The large fully lawned back yard is great space to just sit back and enjoy your holiday time or let the family play with the various toys and games supplied as well as let your pets roam free.
Maldon has:
2 X Queen bedrooms
1 X 2 Bunk room (Suitable for children only)
All beds are made up with fresh linen ready for your arrival. Each bed has a throw rug for added warmth in the winter nights.
You will be provided with adequate freshly laundered towels, face washers, hand towels, tea towels and a bath mat.
Porta cot available.
Main lounge with large flat screen.
Separate dining with an extendable 8 seater dinner
Fully fitted kitchen -with full sized fridge and gas stove, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, electric kettle, toaster, coffee machine, plenty of cooking utensils, quality crockery and cutlery enough for 8 plus plastics for our door use and younger children. High chair available. Tea, coffee and a small variety of herbal teas.
Sun room with second TV with inbuilt DVD player (small DVD library in house). A few games and toys.
Separate toilet from bathroom
Bathroom with full size bath, separate shower, hair dryer. Baby Bath available.
Full laundry- front loader washing machine, dryer and full-sized ironing board. Clothes airier and full sized outside clothes line.
Maldon is on the main street situated within walking distance to everything to make your holiday perfect.
Across the road is a skate park where many young children spend hours entertaining themselves and only a few hundred meters further down is a great play ground.
Shopping for your holiday stores and refreshments is a breeze with the main Wallaroo shopping centre only 3 minutes’ walk where you’ll find a modern Foodland Supermarket and a well-stocked Cellarbrations bottle shop.
There a number of cafes just a few 100 metres down the main street, The Smelter, Copper Coast Cafe, The Shores Cafe, to name a few. Wallaroo boasts a modern Gin Bar/ boutique brewery, Bond Store serving locally made refreshments and has a modern Australian menu.
There are many pubs only a few minutes’ walk in any direction while staying at Maldon or if you prefer a restaurant meal the Coopers Ale House is a short 2.7km drive.
The North Beach Kitchen is located directly on the sands of North Beach only a few moments drive away and serving great breakfasts and lunches and will satisfy your thirst with refreshments from their quaint bar.

A variety of specialty shops are also within 3 minutes walking distance just down the road from Maldon. A little further on you can see the famous jetty where you can just sit and soak up the beautiful coastal sights or see a regular sight of the huge grain ocean liners being loaded with grain grown in the area. If fishing is your thing you can join many others doing so on this jetty.
A hundred meters down the coast you can take a dip in the calm waters of one of the beaches where you can see many local and visiting sailors and fisherman out and about.
If you feel like a drive onto the beautiful North Beach this will take only a few short minutes as it is only a brief 3.8kms drive. Pack your sun tent, picnic basket and beach toys and set yourself up for a day of fun, sun and relaxation.
There are many pubs serving great meals only a few minutes’ walk any direction while staying at Maldon or if you prefer a restaurant meal the Coopers Ale House is a short 2.7km drive.
Golfing is 1.6kms just across town.
If history is an interest there are many locations in Wallaroo and neighbouring towns of Moonta and Kadina showing off the rich copper mining history.
Further afield many other coastal towns have their own points of interest. You will not be short of interesting and fun times when you come and stay at Malden at 57 Owen Terrace Wallaroo.

A lovely property with heaps of character and plenty of space for the family and friends. Close to shops and pubs but still a quiet location. Looking forward to staying again.

The house was lovely. Lots of thought and effort put into everything, including the little things. It seemed quite pricey but was worth it for a couple of nights and was very comfortable and welcoming. The property owner seemed quite nervous with a lot of communication beforehand then started texting about damages and policy on the second night. Put a bit of a dampener on the whole thing and felt a bit threatening. Before that l would have gone back in a heartbeat. Maybe not now.

The property is located on a large block which is great for your kids to play outside (a nice break from their electronic devices). The property is fully fenced so it gives peace of mind that our dogs couldn’t escape. The house is a nice size which gives everyone space. The bedrooms had an area to keep our belongings and hang clothes up if needed. The kitchen was well equipped, had all the amenities that we needed. Had plenty of bench space for food prep. The only thing

Well equipped for kids and babies. We really appreciated the high chair, cot and baby bath! This is an old stone house so it’s got a lot of character. Great for a long weekend/week. We stayed two weeks and found the beds to be a bit hard and uncomfortable , particularly for that long. The location is fab. Easy walk to pubs, cafes, shops, groceries. Super close to a bar beach ally nice park. It’s a great home if you’ve got kids! The only downside is that the pub 3 doors down can be rowdy and loud on Fridays and Saturdays. Otherwise noise was not an issue. The host was wonderful and very communicative/responsive.

We enjoyed sitting on the front verandah and in the sunroom. Pleasant spots to watch the world go by and enjoy the sunshine. We had a comfortable and relaxing stay and enjoyed reconnecting with Wallaroo. Really appreciated the location of the house - so close to everything!
