Wake up slowly with a cuppa on the couch, and when the urge to jump in the water strikes, you can walk right down the back steps of the house to the golden sands of beautiful Culburra Beach. There you can swim or just float under perfect blue skies whilst your four-legged friend runs for kilometres on the dog-friendly beach and the kids splash in the waves.

When you come back inside, your only difficulty will be deciding how to relax; Malda’s isn’t short on areas to recline: with a large backyard and shaded outdoor dining table for enjoying the sunshine; a comfortable living room just inside the sliding doors where you can enjoy the light coming in through floor-to-ceiling windows in all directions; and a sitting room with beautiful wicker couches around the combustion fire for colder days.

Step outside and make the most of the spa for a relaxing afternoon soak with a drink in hand. When mealtimes come around, cook up a storm on the BBQ to dine on the outdoor dining table, and enjoy the beautiful sun in the fully-fenced backyard and garden that extends out past the spa with deck chairs to read or sunbake on a yard big enough for a game of footy.

Once you’re fed and rested, it’s time to see the sights; the shining sands and sparkling waves continue for kilometres around Jervis Bay, so go on leisurely walks along the shore and breathe in the fresh sea air for as long as you like. Malda’s Retreat is the perfect home base for all of your Shoalhaven adventures, an opportunity to rejuvenate, and a coastal holiday you won’t soon forget.

Important Information:

- Bedroom 3 is a Tri Bunk (1 x Double below and 1 x Single on top)
- Please note that we supply a number of basic pantry items at each property. We are, however, unable to guarantee the availability of all pantry items. 3 toilet rolls are supplied per bathroom. You may wish to bring additional supplies with you.
- Internet in regional areas can be inconsistent and uninterrupted supply is not guaranteed. We will not provide compensation for failure or unexpected unavailability of internet services.
- Whilst the majority of properties provide access to streaming services, guests may be required to log in via their own accounts.
- A small amount from every booking is donated to local charities — a booking with Professional Holiday Homes supports local communities.
- Please note that firewood is only supplied from May to September
- Fencing: There is fencing in the backyard however please know there are gaps which pets/children can get through. Pets and children must be actively supervised when in this area.
- Air conditioning: The property has air conditioning in the living room and all bedrooms.
- We welcome responsible guests that will not cause disturbance to our neighbours.
- For our pet friendly properties, pets are welcome inside but not on furniture or beds (please bring a blanket).
- After booking you must sign a rental agreement. Please contact us prior to booking if you'd like to view a copy.
- No schoolies, parties, bucks or hens groups are permitted.

    Was over all a great place to stay, we really enjoyed the relaxing nature of the house and neighbourhood. As a hot person i think some aircon in the living room would make it 100% some small things like washing tablets. Bin liners ect were available so we needed to purchase them.

    This is a disappointing beach shack in dire need of maintenance and investment to update inadequate and outdated amenities. The house was in some disrepair and poorly maintained. Back gate broken (our dog escaped a number of times), holes in deck, bbq filthy, fans dirty, basic utensils like crockery and cutlery were of poor standard, fridge shelving missing, etc. property manager fixed broken gate after we complained but we shouldn’t have had to draw it to their attention if there had been proper maintenance. Property has good access to culburra beach but it’s a very basic beach shack and not the premium quality at which it is pitched and priced.

    Great location, need to ensure basics like dishwasher soap and garbage bags are available, also would recommend a vacuum cleaner be available as it is hard to clean up dog hair on wood floors.I would highly recommend that the air conditioners get a thorough cleaning before the weather gets hot. They are in dire need of cleaning.

    The house has so much potential, however it is very dated and not very clean. Some maintenance is needed. Bedding in main bedroom has a hole in it. Generally the place needs a good deep clean.

    What an amazing property! Everything was perfect for both us and our Fur Babies. Culburra is so welcoming and The Common establishment has great food, drinks and music! We will be back for sure!

    A lovely, private house with great light/windows. Well equipped.Beautiful backyard with short walk to the coast (area has significant dune height between the track & the beach, though a short walk nearby takes you to the beach).

    We stayed for a week and enjoyed the property with our family and four legged friends. We stayed during the cyclone rain bomb and so spent a lot of time indoors and with the wood fired stove keeping us warm and making smores. The beach was amazing and the builders next door were friendly and caused us no problems during the stay.The house was well equipped and we coped with some small leaks during the torrential rain and had all the mops we needed - presumably rain that bad is a one in hundred event.All in all for a wet week it was great and we will book again.

    A fantastic house with plenty of room , and a very short walk to the beach!! Also in easy walking distance of coffee shops, supermarket, bottle shop, restaurants and a great little cocktail bar.

    Perfect beach location, direct access to dog friendly beach in which our Labrador loved. The house in general is great, nice light and private-comfortable living areas,beds and clean linen. Attention to detail lacking in aspects of home, kitchen wares and crockery definately in need of upgrade..TVs in need of repair,Netflix not working.Spa and surrounds lovely although BBQ gas bottle empty on arrival which was frustrating .All in all we had a lovely stay and loved Culburra ,room for improvements though

    Overall a great propery with the added bonus of outdoor spa. House very comportable and spacious. Would suggest fencing needs to be checked as small dog got out several times after finding a few spots that had loose or broken wire fencing.

    Our stay at Malda's Retreat was great. I loved that the backyard was gorgeous and also totally fenced and safe for my dog. The nearby dog beach was wonderful. The house was beautiful and comfortable and the hot tub was to die for!
