Aloha! Welcome to Makua Jim’s — a newly renovated, professionally decorated lakefront retreat designed for effortless days on the water and relaxed nights with a view. Thoughtfully created with families in mind, it’s a touch of the islands in Sunrise Beach, MO!

Tucked away in a quiet, protected cove in Sunrise Beach, this home gives you direct access to the lake while offering a calmer, more relaxing atmosphere than the busy main channel. The protected location helpsminimize large wakes and heavy boat traffic, making it ideal for swimming, paddleboarding, floating, and stress-free lake days with family and friends.

You’ll notice the wide-open water views the second you walk in. It’s the kind of place where you drop your bags, step out onto the deck, and instantly feel like you’re on vacation.

The Space

Every inch of Makua Jim’s has been thoughtfully updated. The home combines modern finishes with warm, inviting textures to create a space that feels both elevated and comfortable.

Clean lines, curated décor, and subtle coastal touches give it a polished look, while still keeping that easy, laid-back lake house feel.

Large windows along the lake-facing side fill the home with natural light and keep the water in view throughout the day.

Living Areas

The main living room is open, comfortable, and designed for connection after a full day on the water. It features a 65” TV with guest mode, allowing you to securely log into your personal streaming services and enjoy your favorite shows without worry. A pull-out queen sofa bed provides additional sleeping space.

The game room brings a whole different energy—perfect for relaxing, letting the kids hang out, or keeping the fun going at night. You’ll also find a Golden Tee arcade cabinet for friendly competition, and you’re welcome to bring your own board games or enjoy a selection of popular titles provided.

Office Space

We don’t exactly encourage working on your lake getaway… but if duty calls, Makua Jim’s has you covered. A dedicated office space with a desk and high-speed internet makes it easy to knock out what you need—so you can get back to the water as quickly as possible.

Kitchen & Dining

The kitchen is fully equipped and designed to be both functional and inviting. Whether you’re preparing a quick breakfast or a full dinner, everything you need is right at your fingertips—including a brand new oven and dishwasher for added convenience.

There is seating for up to 8 guests, making it easy to gather, dine, and spend time together. Enjoy meals inside or take them out to the deck—because the lake view always wins.

Outdoor Living — Three Decks & Grilling Patio

Makua Jim’s features three distinct outdoor spaces, each offering its own way to take in the lake:
• A private balcony off the master bedroom, ideal for quiet mornings and coffee as the lake comes to life
• The main deck, a natural gathering space for outdoor meals, conversation, and winding down at sunset
• A covered lower deck off the living room, perfect for relaxing in the shade with a book or enjoying a slower pace

Just off the deck, you’ll also find a dedicated grilling patio with a brand new gas grill—perfect for cooking up dinner while still enjoying the lake views and outdoor atmosphere.

The calm waters of the protected cove create a peaceful backdrop throughout the day, whether you’re sipping coffee in the morning or unwinding after a long afternoon on the water.

Dock, Boat Slip & Swim Platform

This is where lake life really happens.

Guests have access to a private dock, including a boat slip for your personal or rented watercraft. The protected cove location makes docking easier and creates calmer conditions for swimming, floating, and paddleboarding compared to many busier areas of the lake.

The swim platform makes it easy to jump in, cool off, or relax right at water level.

Whether you’re boating, swimming, floating on the lily pad, or simply enjoying the sun, everything is set up for an effortless lake experience.

Bedrooms

Each bedroom at Makua Jim’s is designed with comfort, character, and functionality in mind—giving everyone their own space to unwind after a full day on the lake.

• Master Suite: Features a king bed, a 55” TV, and a spacious private bathroom with a large walk-in shower. Clean, comfortable, and quiet—perfect for recharging after long days in the sun.
• Guest Room: A cozy, inviting space with a log cabin-style queen bed that adds a touch of rustic charm. Includes a walk-in closet, making it ideal for longer stays or guests who want to settle in.
• Kids Room: Designed with fun and flexibility in mind, featuring twin bunk beds plus an additional twin bed. A kids table and multicolored overhead light make this a playful space where kids can hang out, play games, or wind down at the end of the day.

For added convenience, a washer and dryer are available, making longer stays and family trips even easier.

Located in a quieter section of the lake, Makua Jim’s offers a slower pace and more relaxing atmosphere while still being close to everything you need:
• Short drive to public boat ramp
• Nearby groceries and essentials
• Easy access to local restaurants
• Just 20 minutes to the Bagnell Dam entertainment area for dining, shopping, and nightlife
• Four open parking spaces available
• Concrete ramp provides easy access to the home’s main entry
