Stayed Aug 29, 2025Overall fine but misleading listing, not waterfront or on the lake and you have to walk across state route 46 and down a precarious path to get to the lake area. Not very accessible for some members of our group being pregnant especially when first picture is of the dock on the lake but that is not actually on the property itself. Futon was broken, door handle on downstairs door was broken as well, many outdoor furniture and water sports equipment had damage as well and not maintained. Property was clean, host was responsive, listing was very misleading.

Stayed Jul 6, 2025We stayed here with our 1.5 year old and dog for a summer weekend. The location was good for visits to Acadia and Bar Harbor. The property was very spacious and private for our family. The place was well stocked with baby gear. We felt like the water access was overstated on the listing, it is across the street and down an overgrown path to a small dock between two backyard properties. We were expecting more of a private accessible area based on the listing. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Stayed Jun 27, 2025The communication was great once we were there. Poor communication leading up to our arrival. The dock and lake are across the street, not on the property. We were there to hike in Acadia and visit Bar Harbor. Both were about an hour away.

Stayed Sep 11, 2024Just got back from one week here. Really nice and comfortable house (and well quipped) in a great location if you want to be away from the crowds. Had a lot of fun on the lake, hiking the property, and day trips to Acadia. Acadia took us about an hour or so to get to, but well worth staying here- it’s a beautiful drive anyway. I think our dogs had more fun then we did- the property is perfect for dogs. Thank you and hope to be back!!

Stayed Apr 21, 2024The property is outstanding, the house has a great layout, and the hosts had everything you could possibly need available. They even had things like a portable high chair and pack n play available for anyone who might travel with little guests and a little dog bed and dog dishes for anyone with a smaller dog. It was our first time at a VRBO and it was a seamless and amazing stay. The hiking trails on the property were great, and I had lots of chances for great sunrise photos in the woods. The location was close enough to civilization we could adventure out, but far enough away to feel like a true escape. There is so much to do in the area in nearby Bangor and Bucksport. 1A Collectibles and Schoolhouse Antiques, as well as the great small shops all over downtown Bangor and Steven King's original property are great tourist stops. The parks and hiking in nearby Sandy Point park and Ft Knox Observatory and Bridge were phenomenal. I will make one note for anyone looking at the pictures online, there is a single photo that VRBO has listed as a living room view, that is actually a photo from the nearby Ft Knox Observatory. Although the water is not super visible via the pine trees it is easily accessible with a super short walk, and it was nice to have a little seclusion. There are even a couple smaller waterfalls and creeks right on the property, which my son unearthed in the grasses while exploring near the hiking trails! Wonderful trip, 10/10!
