Magnificent gîte with sea view, heated indoor pool facing Brehat Island

Very good location, but a long drive from Calais

The Carriage House was perfect for the two of us. It was clean, cozy, and well furnished. The location is within a few blocks of the 5 Points restaurants, grocery store. The hosts are welcoming and friendly.

Very friendly owner, lively place

We arrived late, due to a ferry delay, but the owner lives on site and kindly waited up for us. The gite was perfect for us - six adults in 3 roomy ensuite king size bedrooms. The two children were extremely happy in their own little flatlet of two bedrooms (a twin and a double), a shared toilet and shower room together with their own separate kitchen and sitting room complete with pool table, comfy leather sofas and large TV! There was also a large kitchen/diner/sitting room with all you'd need for the stay, modern leather sofas and 2 recliners, and best of all a stunning huge window with the most beautiful view of a sleepy, rocky bay with little yachts bobbing on a blue sea and the Isle of Brehat clearly visible. There were other excellent facilities, such as a very large private balcony with dining table, several sun loungers and an area for drying clothes/towels/swimsuits. There's a shared pool, but rarely busy with other guests, and a garden with a football net. There was a ping pong table and some gym equipment. Absolutely ideal for a family holiday. The owners were very helpful and spoke some English, but a smattering of French would be useful. Lovely little local towns and restaurants. We all loved it and were very sorry to leave.

Ploubazlanec is a pleasant 1.5 hour journey from St Malo. The house had everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay for our adult family group of seven. The inside sitting area has wonderful country AND sea views and the large terrace is perfect for relaxed mealtimes or a spot of sunbathing. The bedrooms were comfortable - although the fifth bedroom is designed more for children - and the ensuites and bathrooms are modern and very clean. The swimming pool/table tennis/table football are in the communal area directly beneath the property. Guests from the two other properties did use them without causing any noise issues for us. The pool table in the property gives chance for more fun and laughter! The kitchen/dining area is very well equipped and provides a social, open plan area for dining and socialising. The walk to the village was ideal for accessing bread and croissants in the morning (you need to be early!), coffee overlooking the harbour area and a lovely fish restaurant for lunch and dinner. We would recommend the villa for group of friends or family - the owners were so friendly and helpful - although you do need a bit of French to communicate effectively!!! The sun shone for the whole week - a very memorable holiday for us all.
