The Area:

Founded in 1615, picturesque Trinity is at the center of this remarkable and authentic area. Among the best-preserved historic towns in Newfoundland - with many buildings unchanged since the 18th century - it thrives as a home to writers, artists and performers, as well as the families and descendants of its earliest settlers. This history and culture combined with amazing wildlife and outdoor experiences has created a unique destination that attracts an interesting seasonal population and global contemporaries who come, experience and return again and again!

The Bonavista Peninsula itself hosts wide array of natural and historic attractions suitable for adventurers and those seeking more relaxed experiences. An exciting recent addition has been Discovery Geopark which has received a UNESCO World Heritage Designation for providing some of the best examples of the oldest fossils in the world. Because of its pristine nature, striking landscapes and authentic communities, the area has become a popular backdrop for the film industry, the latest being Disney's Peter Pan!

A beautiful, architecturally interesting home. Trinity and surrounding areas are full of great things to explore.

Quite simply, Goose Cove Retreat exceeded my (very high) expectations if every way. It is obvious that June and Paul have walked through every room and space trying to anticipate what their guests would want or appreciate and then making sure those needs and wants are provided. From the basket of every size of flip flops for the short walk to the magical hot tub in the trees, or the towel / robe hooks on the tree by the hot tub stairs, or the fresh tulips throughout the home, no detail was too small to be considered.Having stayed in many high-end vacation rentals, there have always been areas where the hosts have (understandably) cut a few corners to save some money. In building and furnishing this extraordinary property, it seems like June and Paul went the other way and went way over the top in their selections. For example, installing a Thermador, built-in, fully automated espresso machine (about 8,000!!) seems almost crazy but makes coffee time seem extra special. Then, having gone totally over the top in that area (complete with high quality beans in the hopper) they also provide a Le Creuset kettle and french press in case that's how you roll. The stereo system is also fantastic, as are the appliances, and the pool table, and the sauna, and the 3 different grills, and, and ...I could go on about the thoughtful details but I will end by saying this place in incredible. I don't think you will ever find a more perfect vacation rental for your family or group.
