We celebrated my father-in-law's 90th birthday in Germany as he wanted to visit some of the places he explored in his 20's during his time in the US Army. Our family group of 14 traveled from all over the US to come to Germany and we wanted to find a place large enough for us to explore the surrounding areas including Heidelberg, Rothenberg, and Stuttgart, so this place fit the bill.The home is very modern, open, clean and large. With 7 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms, it was perfect for our group of 14. The home is located by a beautiful little river and that provided some picturesque views of the hills and river. The kitchen was well stocked including two dishwashers and lots of fridge and freezer spaces which was ideal for a large group. The open concept living room, dining room, kitchen set was perfect for everyone to be together, but still having their own spaces. The large glass doors in that space opened to a nice shaded patio which we enjoyed day and night as well as the BBQ one evening. All in all, it was a very enjoyable stay.One thing I would point out is the lack of screens on any windows or doors, no ceiling fans and no AC. It was quite hot during our stay, but did cool off at night, but it was difficult to sleep most evenings without any ventilation in the rooms. We had to choose whether to keep the windows open in the rooms which attracted a ton of bugs everywhere or sleep with everything closed and then it got quite warm at night.
