Luxury at Lake Martin I

How can I count the ways of how badly this property is managed. When we arrived the house was 83 degrees with 1/3 of AC units frozen. It took until midnight to get the house down to 72 degrees. The manager did reluctantly (after 3 calls and multiple texts) send out a service person but the service person didn't want to come (told me to wait it out and call him in the morning). The AC filter was clogged beyond working order. The baseboards near the AC unit on the inside were moldy due to water damage. The AC can’t keep up on hot days. The house (after the visit from the service man) got up to 78 every afternoon. There were bugs in the bathrooms, under the beds and in more places than not. The paint job on the interior walls is embarrassing. The mattress quality on the beds is worse than the floor. The pier had 4 missing boards or holes when we arrived. Our group stepped through the pier on 3 other occasions. The kitchen stove eyes haven't been cleaned in what could be described as years. The can opener provided was rusted. The pots and pans have peeling handles and chips. The refrigerator water dispenser had black clumps that would come out in your glass. We assumed it was mold. You will need some baking sheets and casserole dishes if you are cooking in this kitchen. Basic everything in lower numbers than the house can accommodate. There is no exhaust fan for cooking and evacuating smells. The kitchen bar stool was literally failing apart 3 of 4 legs didn't even have screws holding it together. The only positive thing about the kitchen was the ice maker. There were 2 trash cans in the whole house (inside, outside and including bathrooms). In the entire basement there were zero trash cans. Household trash was not picked up on Monday as we were told. Trash for our Thursday to Thursday stay had to be accumulated in the garage. The smell of accumulated garbage was beyond disgusting and who would call mingling with your garbage luxury? The yard was unkempt when we arrived. The yard is all weeds very little actual grass. The houses on either side have nice weed free yards this house weedy and sad. Not to mention zero stairs to get the pier (short highly sloped walk). As previously mentioned, the missing boards. The 2nd board was missing from the pier. The pier (and upstairs deck) wood was not sealed or treated the kids and some adults got countless splinters. TLDR; this house is a lawsuit waiting to happen

Home was very clean with Lakeside access and view. Will definitely stay here again.

Great house with plenty of room for our family to enjoy each other!

Amazing

Our trip was perfect! Bring your boat for easy rides to chimney rock, chucks pizza, and the ridge marina. The house is right around the corner from chimney rock but the dock is in a little cove with very little traffic. I have nothing bad to say. House was clean and well kept. Would definitely book again. We had 8 adults and 6 kids and were totally comfortable in the house.

House was blazing hot (above 80 degrees on arrival and took until 10 pm to cool down. No toilet paper, no trash bags. Water and ice dispenser in fridge broken. One very small Charcoal grill that fit maybe 6 burgers for a house that accommodates 12 ppl. Grill was full of ash and broken. I had to buy a grill at Dollar General to feed our group.. House was dirty, carpets and furniture stained, huge spider webs on lower deck everywhere. Toaster made 2 slices and worked poorly. Overall the property is poorly maintained and poorly equipped for a very expensive and large home. They did deliver toilet paper and a honey baked ham on day 2.

Vrbo sent the wrong address. The property manager (he was awesome, Terry) sent an email later in the week before our stay with the correct address but I had already forwarded the first email to my guests. The house numbers were the only difference.....There were sewage problems accompanied by sewage smells and toilet issues from the moment we checked in,8/7, to the day before we checked out on 8/16. I was compensated $500. The process was tedious and lengthy and every effort was made to remedy it. It definitely was not relaxing for me. If you want details call (970)318-6467
