Tina and Kerri were fantastic hostesses. They treated us with fresh fruit, and even fresh eggs from their own chickens, besides welcoming us with fresh baked muffins and a fruit plate to die for. The bedroom was quite small, but a sleep number mattress and an adequate closet made very comfortable. I could not check “quiet” because of the loud frog concert every night, but it was a natural sound easily muffled with ear plugs if one chose to do so. Otherwise, the area was very charming and quiet. We loved interacting with their many pets, that were never a nuisance, and enjoyed the landscape around their house, and the daily exchanges about eateries and beaches.

If you’re looking for a home away from home that’s just 10 minutes from the best snorkeling, you have found the place. We were greeted by Tina and Keri with fresh eggs, papayas, avocados and bananas and coffee straight from their land. Everything is authentic, especially the kindness and care they bring, including the best muffins and cake and expert knowledge of where to snorkel. Their library of guidebooks on nature, hiking, and travel were awesome, as well as every possible thing you might need, including coats to use for a trip to the volcano. This area, South Kona, is a special place to relax and enjoy Kona coffee, and adventures with a rainbow of fish. A big Mahalo to Tina and Keri for a trip of a life time.

We loved this place that is tucked in on the west facing side with coffee, macadamia, avocado trees amongst other beautiful trees and flowers. So convenient to the beaches, snorkeling, volcano park, and not too far to get supplies or great food. Our hosts Tina and Keri were amazing. Fresh baked muffins (delicious), fresh eggs and fruit grown on their property. A perfect home base away from the crowds in Kona. A big thank you to Tina and Keri. Hope to see you again soon . Our granddaughter loved hanging with the cats and chickens every day and chatting up our hosts every morning. Mahalo

This is our second time in Big Island. We knew we want to stay around Captain Cook area because we like to snorkel. We didn’t expect being greeted with the most delicious banana muffins. In addition, Keri and Tina generously share their fruits and eggs from the garden. The animals were all so cute and welcoming (yes including the geckos) - part of the package?. We had two teen boys with us and the unit are big enough for all of us doing our school and work (at times) at separate spaces. Gratefully yours, CKMW

The grounds are gorgeous and very well maintained. Tina & Keri are accommodating, giving and caring of all people, animals and their community. The units are very clean, well stocked and the beds and linens were more comfortable than most! We will definitely return to the Hideaway.

Thank you so much for a wonderful stay on the Big Island. Appreciated all the thoughtful things you did, like leaving fresh fruit and delicious homemade muffins for our arrival! What a treat to taste the hand-picked fresh fruits grown on your property. It really made us feel welcome, especially with the late arrival and being pretty hungry after the trip. Nothing like a fresh taste of the island and the sound of the frogs outside, to let you know you've arrived! Plus, great directions, so we were able to find you even in the dark - also love the little lights outside guiding us to your place every time. Your suggestions for where we could find things and looking into the Manta Ray booking on our behalf, really saved us time and made our holiday so much more enjoyable. Loved the binder that you put together with restaurant and beach suggestions. Thank you for being great hosts and making our visit fantastic!
