Booked a fall 5 night extended weekend for our daughters wedding at Castle Farms. We spent great family time with our 4 adult children, their spouses and 6 grandchildren. This fabulous log cabin style home with over 300 acres and a private lake were nothing less than awesome. Only drawback was we endured a nasty weekend of weather. It rained and was windy the entire stay, however being holed up in this comfy log cabin we still had a great weekend with family. The home offered us great family time with fires, good food, games and of course our daughter's Cinderella wedding in Charlevoix. We would love to bring our family back for a week long stay during the summer. Would love to get out and explore the gorgeous property and do some fishing on the private lake.
Nice and roomy! Property manager was super nice! Very rustic and cozy and quiet. House had all the furnishings we needed. About a ten minute drive from downtown Charleviox. Nice area.
It's plain to see that the owners here love this house. There is so much work evident to maintain the massive house, sprawling property, sporting equipment, lakeside features, hiking trails, etc. We had 14 family members from 63 to 2 years old enjoy this house for a week. Almost all meals were prepared at the home, including every dinner. Early mornings on the lake set the tone for relaxed days. Late nights around the outside fireplace (including meteor showers and bug-clearing bats!) set the stage for memorable stories being made. Every place has some shortcomings, but in this case, so few that I can honestly say that it will be top of our list for the next family gathering destination.
Our family of 16 (adults and children) loved our stay at this house! The house itself is very clean, well equipped and in a phenomenal setting right next to a peaceful quiet lake. We have stayed at a lot of VRBO homes but have never encountered a home that had as many things to do right on the property. We used the ping pong table, pool table, bikes, kayaks, canoes, motorized fishing boat, tennis and basketball courts, and virtually lived on the huge wraparound deck. The deck itself is very well maintained with no loose or rough boards. The kitchen was stocked with more than enough plates, baking pots and pans, and utensils than we could use. We also enjoyed the fire pit! You could easily spend a week here and find things to do without ever having to leave the property. We did have an issue with the internet going out and the property manager took care of it very promptly and professionally. And all of our correspondence with the owner has been wonderful - very responsive and professional. Our group has never talked in the past about possibly coming back to the same house for a future vacation, but the consensus this time was we could definitely see ourselves vacationing here again in the future. It’s a wonderful place to stay and we definitely could have stayed longer!
We had an amazing experience staying for a long weekend in January 2023. The log cabin is truly breathtaking, on an incredible 320 acre parcel of land, with birch and pine trees that go on forever, nestled in on a beautiful lake. The log cabin is immaculate, with amazing floorplan that is perfect for a large family or multiple families to enjoy. The décor is perfect for a log cabin, complementing the wood log design in every room. There is a chef’s kitchen that is great for cooking, that is adjacent to the large great room, with an enormous stone fireplace that goes all the way up to the 2nd floor. We had a wonderful experience staying here, it was magical, and we look forward to many return visits.
The home setting here is just beautiful, quiet and peaceful. Our family gathered here to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. The home is well equipped with everything you need. Beautiful outdoor deck with fireplace. If you enjoy the outdoors and a peaceful quiet place this home is ideal. We enjoyed fishing, walking playing basketball, tennis and it is not far from Charlevoix . Great place and we would definitely consider returning. Owner and caregiver of the home were quick to respond and wonderful to work with.
Our family immensely enjoyed our time at this home. The lake and land around this house was amazing. There is something for everyone: hiking paths, a lake for canoeing/kayak, tennis court, soccer court, decks to watch the birds and sunset...if you like the outdoors you will love this property. The grounds are beautiful. While the location is outside of Traverse City, we found plenty of good places to eat and drink around the area. We enjoyed this property both as a point to explore the area as well as a place to enjoy outdoors when we decided not to go further afield.
We had a great stay at this lovely house. The property is amazing - and we had a ton of snow! I can imagine it’s even more beautiful during the warmer months. The house was charming, equpied with everything we needed, great for families (we shared with another family and there was plenty of space for kids and adults). We stayed pretty hunkered in, enjoying sledding and romping outside, but it was an easy trip to Charlevoix while still feeling like you were out in your own mature retreat! The owner and managers were very responsive and helpful for getting in/out, and we would definietly return in the future!
We were so happy to return to the beautiful Log Home on Lake Moblo. Our family enjoyed walking the property with our dog, skiing at Nubs Nob and Boyne Mountain and returning to relax in front of the fireplace. We also enjoyed making our meals in the gourmet kitchen which is well equipped. We thoughtouly enjoyed our visit and hope to return next year.
Our group of 6 adults and 6 kids had a wonderful 5 days at this property. It was great to have 3 master bedrooms with their own bathrooms, and then 2 bunk rooms for the boys and girls down in the basement. I've never stayed at a rental property with more dishes, pots, cooking supplies, shampoos and soaps, even floss and toothbrushes if you forgot yours. It was very thoughtful and felt like you were staying at a friend's house not a rental. The only thing we were disappointed about was that the new family room fireplace was not operational, but we did have a few fires out on the patio (though it was cold)! The house is about 30 mins from Boyne Mountain, so it's an easy drive for skiing. I would highly recommend!!!
