The house was clean, spacious, and beds were very comfortable. Only thing to be aware of is that the house can accomodate 10 people but there wasn't enough seating (or other chairs) around the dining table or silverware.
We were in for a wedding and this was a great location with plenty of space. The hosts were very helpful, when we realized we left a special doll behind, and we were able to get her back.
It was absolutely what we needed after my brother’s family was devastated by a house fire. They needed a place to begin the recovery process and this was ideal. The house was spotless, beds very comfortable, beautiful kitchen (appliances very easy to use) quiet neighborhood and easy to find. My suggestions for improvement are: A better stocked kitchen. I had to go out and buy measuring cups, a blender, box grater, mixing bowls Have a regular coffee pot instead of - or in addition to - the Keurig. Woefully inadequate pots and pans, only one skillet and it was pretty banged up and misshapen. There was only one true wine glass, the others are actually water or footed ice tea glasses. Maybe have more basic beverage glasses. Provide actual written instructions on how to use the tv. There were 3 remotes to choose from, and I had to take a picture and send to the owners about which one to use. It was a very confusing system and experienced significant transmissions delays. Overall a good place.
Excellent and comfortable accommodations! Great location with amenities very close as is the access to the interstate. The host was easy to communicate with. Highly recommended!
Beautiful country setting ! close enough to downtown Madisonville restaurants, shopping and surrounding towns. Only 60 mins to New Orleans. Only complaint is that it was difficult to regulate the AC/Heater but the home owner quickly responded with the solution.
Family wedding weekend in Mandeville. Inside of house was exceptionally clean and neat. Outside of the house could use a little spring cleaning….. nice quiet rental and close to grocery and interstate. Give it a try….
A short drive to Mandeville, great restaurant Impastco near by. Cleanliness of the inside of the house was excellent, One little snap with checkin code quickly resolved. Outside of house could use a little spring cleaning but nothing to deter your stay. Give them a try - quiet, close to grocery and coffee shop (2.5 miles).
Previous recent reviews seemed a little generous with their stars. I will say that the home is laid out well to accommodate 6 to 8 adults but, it needs repair that had already been highlighted in previous reviews and have been ignored by the host. The refrigerator is still not cooling well and the freezer is frozen shut. The outlets in the upstairs guest bathroom still do not work, causing guest to have to get ready in the downstairs half bath. Additionally, the back porch light is inoperable and hanging off the house by the power cord and the water pressure is lacking. One of the most disturbing issues is the plumbing for the master shower and guest tub. When we arrived, neither were draining well, causing users to have to stand in water while showering, pretty gross. The last morning, neither the tub nor the shower would drain at all, making it impossible to shower the morning of our departure. If you decide to book this property, I would confirm with the host that these things have been fixed and check them when you arrive. Homer Walden
Very nice home. It looked like it had been recently updated and was very clean. There were two electrical outlets in main bathroom upstairs that weren’t working which was inconvenient when we were getting ready to attend wedding festivities. We did not report to owner. Overall it was very nice.
My message to the owners, to which I have not yet received a response As your PDF attachment does not permit a response thereon, I will respond by return email. I agree with your ad that you have a beautiful home, well-suited to a family atmosphere. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. Both the property and neighborhood are safe, peaceful and beautiful. That is why I booked it for our family gathering of our sons, their spouses, and two toddler grandchildren. In searching for a rental, I was attracted to your brochure statement: “You will find all luxe amenities to cook, appliances, and dine together as a family. “Each of our 3 families brought food and stopped to buy food to prepare together our favorite meals. As we were also joining other family members in another nearby location, we also needed to prepare food to share. The disrepair of expected appliances was a major inconvenience. As a consequence of the refrigerator not cooling (the freezer was frosted over but the refrigerator was lukewarm) we had to use ice-chests and ice to keep food at a safe temperature. The refrigerator's ice maker similarly did not produce / dispense ice - it melted due to the high temperature in the refrigerator. In addition to the significant inconvenience of the warm refrigerator, the under counter ice machine was not working (the control panel lights were on but did not respond or initiate ice production). Also of note, the front left burner of the stove did not light. Between the spoiling food, the bags of ice, portions of dry ice, and take-out deli meals, etc. for 3 families, I was disappointed to have the added expense and especially the inconvenience caused by the malfunctioning refrigerator. We primarily want to bring these issues to your attention so that necessary repairs can be made and to better accommodate your future guests. Since you pride yourselves on providing ‘a place where we feel like home’, I think that you must understand and share my disappointment. This was our one chance to have our family together ‘at home’ in a central location. While I am not making a demand of compensation, I feel that some recompense for these unexpected expenses and inconveniences would not be inappropriate. Thank you for your hospitality, Judith Pautz
