Murphysboro, Illinois
This scenic ridge top farm house originally constructed in 1870 has been in the same family since the early 1940s and was recently restored/remodeled back to the original 10 foot ceilings and brillant wood floors. A large spacious kitchen, tastefully decorated with a country flair. The bathroom includes a walkin tub and messaging jets. There is a cozy front porch to watch the sunrize, a large back yard patio, hammick, gas grill, a burn ring and picnic table. All perfect for entertaining and watching the sunset. Wineries and hiking trails (Little Grande Cannon and Shawnee National Forest) are only a few miles away and traveled to on scenic country roads.
Randy keeps his place clean and full of fun facts . '
We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the farmhouse setting very much. The wine and chocolates were a very nice touch.
This was a nice place for all of us, but it was not as clean as I was expecting. The mattress pad on the pull out couch was dirty, the tub had dirt and ants crawling on it, and the floors were dirty as well. Overall though that stuff didn't affect our trip that much, we still had a great time and enjoyed our stay.
The property is clean and quiet, the owner is very communicative, easy to talk to, and responds quickly to any concerns. We have stayed multiple times and will stay again. The price is good for the area and we don’t like hotels.
A beautifully cared for classic farm house that is a perfect getaway. We took advantage of internet connectivity and great hiking locations for a 'working vacation'. The house has everything you need as well as great outdoor spaces. Highly recommend choosing this home and make it yours for as much time as you need! Owner was fantastic.
Much bigger on the inside than it appears on the outside. Excellent place to stay. Clean. Comfortable beds. Plenty of room in the kitchen. I would definitely recommend this place as an option for people coming to the area.
We really enjoyed staying in this lovely home. Beds are very comfortable and rooms are cozy. Patio is very nice. Highly recommend staying for southern Illinois adventures.
we enjoyed ourselves hiking at the nearby parks, especially little grand canyon. We visited 6 wineries and enjoyed cooking on the grill as well as a nice bonfire one evening. Very homy!
Hi! We stayed here while moving our kid back to school. Our dates had changed a couple times and Randy was always available. He was in touch on an almost daily basis while we were there, just to see how things were going. It was very quiet and the deer were cool to look at. We loved it and hopefully we’ll be back.
We had a nice stay! Be prepared to drive 20+ minutes to get just about anywhere in the area. Randy was great with communication. My only feedback would be that for 4 adults, although very cute, the sliding barn doors in conjunction with the layout didn’t provide a ton of privacy.
