This comfortable retreat in the hills just west of downtown Austin is the ideal location for a family, digital nomads and new transplants to move in and explore for a while all that Central Texas has to offer: acclaimed Eanes Independent School District schools, downtown Austin, the hill country, shopping, outdoor recreation, fine restaurants, as well as special events such as UT Football games, Formula 1, Austin City Limits, SXSW and countless others.

The home is unfurnished and available for longer-term stays, so bring your stuff or rent what you need and stay a while! For those looking for a quiet and safe retreat, our home is extremely private on a dead-end street off a dead-end street in the Westlake Highlands area of Central Austin. No through traffic means quiet nights with only the sound of night birds and the rustle of the trees. Even though it feels like you are in the country, you are a short 10 minute drive through beautiful hilly quiet roads to downtown Austin, 15 minutes to UT, 30 minutes to F1, 5 minutes to ACL, 10 minutes to SXSW venues and less than 5 minutes to dining & shopping.

The house is 3400 square feet on a wooded half acre. The house can comfortably fit 10 people in 5 bedrooms or convert a bedroom or two into additional workspaces.
The main floor features the master bedroom with plenty of room for a King bed and a sitting area. It features walk-in closets, an en-suite bathroom with a tub and shower and double vanities. Another room can be a small bedroom, nursery or office. It is next to a half-bath. The main floor also features a great room, a large kitchen with a bar that seats six with a small attached office, an open concept dining or family room, a breakfast dining area and a laundry room with doggie doors to the outside. The outdoor deck wraps around the main floor and features outdoor living and dining areas and is securely fenced with a small grassy area for pet relief.

The second floor has three large bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Rates are based on the length of stay (minimum 60 days), the number of people and pets.

    It is a beautiful place to stay. Very relaxing and comfortable. Morning coffee on the deck with nature and wildlife. Got to sit with deer while watching the hummingbirds and squirrels in the trees. Also got to meet the friendliest loving cat that would come over and hang out with us on the deck.

    Anita’s place was beautiful and perfectly housed our very large group during our stay in Austin. We loved the location and appreciated being able to book last minute as our other rental had fallen through. We appreciated her letting us use the place as a quick touch down for family we were visiting to do pop ins.

    We stayed here in May of 2024 for a reunion of long time friends and it was absolutely perfect. Our group was 6 people where we all had separate bedrooms and bathrooms and plenty of common space to enjoy. The house has an amazing wrap around our door deck with scenic views of the hills and area. Great for a glass of wine and socializing..The home was about a 10-15 minute drive from the downtown area, was spacious, well kept and had everything we needed to make our weekend what we wanted and more. Our hosts Anita and Kurt were A++ Always responsive, offered us additional ways to enhance our stay, stocked some refreshments and coffee and welcomed us very hospitably! Would highly recommend this home and hosts for your consideration.

    I stayed here for my graduation weekend and the house is beautiful. It looks just like the pictures. The host communicated efficiently and it was relatively close to downtown. The weather didn’t lend itself to use the patio as much but it was beautiful. One note I would give to future guests is to be careful driving at night. The neighborhood doesn’t have any streetlights and the roads are winding and hilly.
