Louis Creek, British Columbia
This charming log house is situated on a family owned and operated 160-acre forested property with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. Take in the serenity of this remote and unique property while enjoying the modern comforts of a freshly furnished home.
Constructed in 1984, this beautiful log house was family built with wood sourced directly from the property. All water dispensed inside the log house is pumped directly from a year-round running spring behind the building. You are more than welcome to bottle up some spring water to take home!
Our property is the perfect place to unwind and de-stress as you take in the picturesque views and fresh mountain air. Whether you are here to take it easy as a family or get a group of friends together for a celebration, you will feel right at home.
Entering the front door at ground level you will find a king bedroom, bathroom, fully equipped kitchen and large living/dining area with access to the rear patio. There is a staircase leading upstairs to the master bedroom with ensuite bathroom, and another bedroom which sleeps 3 with a bathroom just outside.
The basement hosts an entertainment area with satellite TV (option for HDMI input), foosball table, board games and a beautiful 10 x 10 ft leather couch. There is also another bedroom with a queen bed and a backup single mattress which can be laid out.
Let the kids loose outside in the large garden area. There will be some sporting equipment for guest use but feel free to bring your own. Go on a hike through the forest or relax on the deck by the pool and hot tub. End the night with some smores around the fire pit (weather and season permitting).
We also have miles upon miles of trails that go all over the mountain, that you can access directly from the property. Ideal for ATVs or side-by-sides.
You should receive nothing short of a five-star experience when staying at our property. If you have any requests prior to your stay we will always do our best to accommodate.
We were a group of 3 couples Who absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful log home. The secluded location and ample space were perfect for our group. Communication with both Greg and Ken before and during the stay was seamless and any questions were answered promptly. A beautiful place to unwind and enjoy a weekend away with friends. The hot tub was a massive plus and a perfect way to unwind. Easily accessible trails for dirt bike and ATV riders with some wicked views. The house was very clean and the photos do not do the place justice. Kitchen was well stocked and had all we needed and more. You can see why many people return to this place each year in both summer and winter
We were two families, with three kids 7 and under who visited this wonderful place over the Thanksgiving weekend. The fall colours made an already beautiful place absolutely spectacular. The house was great for what we were looking for -- lots of space, very clean well stocked kitchen and lots of fun stuff to do. The weather was fantastic and we really enjoyed our time around the fire and exploring the large property. The craftsmanship put into this house is impressive. The listing mentions the spring fed water - it was wonderful. All of us mentioned how tasty (or more accurately tasteless) the water was. A real treat. One small point that is worth mentioning and I didn't notice in the property description -- none of us had cellular coverage. The internet via WIFI was great so long as you are in the house, but once outside, you are completely unplugged. For us, it wasn't a big deal at all, but it is likely worth knowing in advance.
Absolutely gorgeous house and property.... the pictures don't do it justice. Definitely recommend getting supplies in Kamloops on your way up, as it is quite a trek back into town later, though the grocery store in barrier is surprisingly well equipped If you are looking for an amazing home and a great place to get away from it all, put this at the top of your list
We stayed here with family and we had a blast. The cabin itself is beautiful, the property is large its quite and clean. Not much else you could ask for. Just perfect. And thank you Ken for showing us around. I cant stay enough about this place, our family has already decied to return next year for our annual family vacation. Till next year !
We spent a week here with our parents and my sisters family (11 of us in total-our 3 year old slept on an air mattress). Had a great week relaxing, playing with kids both in and out of pool and disconnecting from outside life. Property is well stocked with bathroom and kitchen essentials. We purchased groceries in Kamloops prior to arrival but could also use Barriere which is close by. Worth the drive for sure. Thanks Greg (and Ken!)
The setting and privacy was perfect for our family. We felt like we were out in the wilderness, but town was near enough if we needed any groceries.
We were a group of ten friends with kids. We enjoyed the stay at the property, celebrated a birthday as well. The hot tub was super, the patio area had a barbecue which was amazing. The kitchen was fully loaded and well stocked. Overall we had a fantastic stay. Greg and Ken were super helpful with communication and check in process.
Really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The pictures really doesn’t do it justice. Really beautiful inside and out. Property manager was great with any questions and help when needed. We would definitely book this cabin again!
We had a blast coming to this log cabin for the weekend. It was awesome to look at the beautiful design of this building. Definitely Noted all the fine details in the craftsmanship. This place was very spacious for us. Lots of room to play and hang out. The rooms were very nice and spacious. Nice big kitchen. Big yard to do bonfires and play for the kids. The location was very private which we really liked. Only 40 minutes drive to Sun peaks ski resort. Ken, the property manager, was amazing to deal with!
We (6 adults/4 children) just returned from an amazing week at this property and everyone had a blast. The location is very secluded with all the privacy that anyone could ask for. Anytime that we travel with that many people it's a concern that we'll spend the whole week tripping over each other, but the home was very spacious with ample room for everyone. The kids had an amazing time splashing in the pool and hot tub, and playing piano and foosball, while the adults spent their time between the various decks to catch sun/shade and cooling off in the pool. We made many trips to nearby Forest Lake (about a 10 minute drive) which was an amazing spot for the kids to jump in the lake and spend a few hours paddle boarding on the quiet lake. Greg was very helpful prior to our arrival and had many suggestions to help us prepare for our trip and answer any questions that we had. While there we were handed over to the onsite property manager Ken who was also very helpful and quick to tend to any needs that we had. It's also worth noting that we didn't hear or see him unless on request. He did make daily trips up to check on the hot tub and pool but always coordinated that with us through WhatsApp. The home was completely spotless upon our arrival which is a tall order as we have a very picky group of guests and it's not easy managing a home of that size and the log construction. The construction of the home itself was also beautiful with many very impressive logs hand picked to provide beautiful touches throughout. To respond to a previous review that the home is dated, I'll say that the home is exactly as advertised and exactly what we expected upon our arrival. It has been well maintained and just what we expected when booking an older log home for an accommodation. If anything I would say that it surpassed what I expected from the pictures provided in the listing. There were very few downfalls to the home, but I'll provide them for awareness for both future travellers and the owners. The hot tub itself and pool deck area are beginning to show their age. This isn't to say that they aren't nice and weren't completely enjoyed, but they will be in need of a bit of TLC sooner rather than later. The main floor is rather dark, but very much expected for an older log home. And finally, it was a bit challenging to get a fresh supply of toilet paper when needed, but likely due to a newer property Manager. In the end everything was provided!
