Stayed Sep 11, 2024Pros: location with a short walk to beautiful village. Nice backyard. Good water pressure. Wifi worked great. Ample plates, glasses and cooking implements. Price was reasonable. Host was friendly in all communications. Cons: all instructions in French, impossible to follow for non French speakers. Beds and pillows unconfortable. Living room furniture has no back support. Need throw pillows for back support and more pillows for bedrooms.. Bath towels are small and thin. Upstairs shower is like a phone booth. Tiny. All of the issues other than the upstairs shower are easily remedied and this can become a five star dental.

Stayed Jun 20, 2024A delightful cottage a short (uphill) walk to the beautiful village of Locronan. One bedroom and bathroom downstairs and two bedrooms and bathroom upstairs. Large bright built-in verandah overlooking the garden. Kitchen is compact with minimal preparation area but has all utensils required. Note: bring toilet paper as it is not supplied

Stayed Dec 31, 1969This house immediately appealed to us due to it’s Breton stone architecture and it's beautiful garden. The longer we were there the more we grew to love it. We arrived very early but a quick call to Marie-Paul, the owners “lady in the village” and she came straight away to let us in. The house is very well designed, spacious and comfortable, the verandah and terrace brings the outside inside and the garden which is so big and wraps all the way around the cottage is a sheer delight to sit in. We were very blessed with hot and sunny weather during our stay and so when we weren’t exploring the area, we virtually “lived” in the garden. We didn’t have many meals in the house but those we did have we prepared in a very well equipped and easy to use kitchen and were all taken outside on the patio table under the pretty sunshade? The location is great, a few minutes walk up the hill into the lovely village of Locronan itself, no general shops but lots of artisan places and very good creperies and restaurants. There is an excellent boulangerie where we bought baguettes for picnics on the beach. There is a very good superU only three miles away. The cottage is also beautifully situated for exploring that corner of Brittany which we did quite easily. Little things like behind the toilet could have been cleaner and there was some dust but nothing alarming deterred us from having a wonderful time in this lovely house. We were unaware from the pre booking information that bed linen and towels were not provided. However, a quick call to the owner sorted out that problem and we shall come prepared next time, and because we grew so attached to the house and to the area, there will be, if the hosts will have us, a next time.

Stayed Jun 9, 2018Locronan is one of the most beautiful villages of France, and this house is situated such that you can walk out of the door, and be in the heart of this ancient little granite community, with its artists, craftsmen and restaurants, within a couple of minutes on foot. It is a superb value holiday. Nathalie and Ronan, with their caretaker Marie Paule, do everything to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. The house is well resourced and stocked, particularly if you are travelling with fellow adults. The area oozes Breton tradition, and you are within reach of the beaches, coves, rocky headlands, the wonderful cathedral city of Quimper, ancient churches with their remarkable calvaries crazy saints, fishing towns and villages and mouth-watering fish restaurants. Take your car and your walking shoes: Breton roads and paths are quiet, scenic, enviably well-maintained and a pleasure to drive and walk. Visit as many markets as you can, with their terrific home-made produce. Alternatively, just laze around in the garden, make friends with the magpies who love to wander into the conservatory occasionally, and just chill out. We didn't really want to come home!

Stayed May 26, 2018If you want to stay in an original stone house in the stunning village of Locronan, this is your place. But one of the beds is uncomfortable, the kitchen is small, and some of the amenities could be improved. The setting, however (especially the garden in back) is superb.
