Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Hello! We recently hosted my father's 90th Birthday at The Lightkeeper. The weekend worked out really well, but I did want to give my feedback. It looks like the property is for sale so this all may be a moot point, but nonetheless, I would describe the stay as rough. It seems like a great place with a lot of potential but we really had to create our own situation! We purchased our own chairs, towels and tent. And we made friends with the neighbors who then graciously let us use their access points to the beach. Our beach day was indeed magical but, sadly, no thanks to the Lightkeeper.Because we had folding chairs, we were able to re-purpose them to use on the two decks, and we had a good laugh when we finally discovered a large amount of hidden folding outdoor chairs that we could have used instead of carrying our chairs all over the place! We were able to pull off our dinner - but - there was a big last minute scramble to get dining (NOT CAFE) chairs for the long table we had rented, silverware, glasses, etc. It all worked out successfully but there was a lot of unnecessary drama which ended up putting a big damper on the whole thing for me.The AC and the cleanliness of the sheets and towels were below sub-par, but luckily our family camps a lot, and is familiar with roughing it, so we made it work! We had plenty of space and bathrooms, and the Ponte Vedra beach was great. But I've had several family reunions at basic camps over the years which are pretty much the same experience. This property is not at the level of a real VRBO. We got a good price and you get what you pay for so all's well that ends well. But whoever the final owner is, they are leaving a lot of money on the table. This property could be really special with a little more effort.
We enjoyed our stay and the place was nice, but not sure if we'd stay there again. Pros: - Good location close to old town St. Augustine - Great layout for multi-family social time upstairs - Clean (but a few minor things needed fixing) - Access to the Serenata Beach Club (for additional fee) was wonderful - Driveway was great for kiddies to bike/scooter, lots of parking Cons: - Beach access is 1/2 mile away - Room layout wasn't quite as expected from pictures ... didn't work as well as hoped for multiple families - One bedroom was basically a big closet - Door was unlocked upon arrival, and no on called us back when we contacted the rental agency - Both dryers were full of wet towels upon arrival
This property was great for a large group of people. There was ample parking for 5 cars including a double car garage to park. The home was spacious and had two living areas to gather. We had a few minor issues *such as there was no key in the lockbox and we had to call for the garage code, which ended up as a plus as everyone (14 ladies) could come and go and not worried about sharing a key. * we could not find the towels but eventually found them in the dryer and had to fold and put the towels in the various bathrooms *no kitchen towels or kitchen wash clothes nor bathroom wash clothes *no extra toilet paper, only the existing ones on the roll. With 14 ladies and 3 nights we ran out very quickly, and no extra paper towels. We did call the owner/manager and they did eventually bring these items, but we had already went to Publix and picked these items up. The one major disappointment was one room with a double bed was very uncomfortable. However the home was beautiful, and large. If the owner just fixed the few problems mentioned above this would be a five star rating.
Definitely roomy with lots of parking. Rooftop is great at night. Difficult to get to the beach without walking through someone else’s back yard
Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is large enough for 6 individuals or couples. The 7th bedroom is pretty much a closet with a bed in it. The wifi network is a different name (we figured it out). The tv in the crow's nest works but there is no cable or internet there. Overall the house was okay but the description should include the fact that in order to walk to the beach you have to trespass. There is no access despite being directly across the street.
Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: No heat in the master crows nest bedroom. Temp got down to 34degree & Mngmt did nothing. Main floor heat didn't work on 1st nite, next 2 nites we're ok. Not enuf hot water for everyone to shower in mornings. No wash cloths, no toilet paper, no shampoo or conditioner, no dish cloths, and the list of no goes on. We paid $3,200 for 3 nights and only got 4 walls, floors, & basic furniture. Had to go shopping just to have basics that all other vaca rentals provide. Not having heat or hot water should have been reason for some refund, but to also not have the crows nest master was complete theft and misrepresentation by this owner.
My large family (6 siblings), with our significant others, gathered in St. Augustine to attend our mother's memorial service. The property was in great condition and as advertised regarding amenities, etc. It definitely suited our needs for the weekend.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: As far as the house went, it was wonderful. We had plenty of room and enjoyed the unique layout. It was very clean and we had not problems except one AC went out and we had to have that fixed, but otherwise everything was great. Our problems; however, were with Suncastle Properties and their agents. When I first spoke with Matt at Suncastle, I asked lots of questions because my parents are very picky as to where we book. They want to make sure we have easy access to the beach, etc. Even though I point blank asked lots of questions, I was given lots of wrong information. For one thing, I was told we had complete access to the nice beach club right down the road and that we could enjoy access to the beach, pools, snack bar, etc. I even asked if it was included in our purchase and I was told it was. Needless to say, when we arrived on Saturday and tried to enter the club the same day, we were told we had to have prior approval and fill out paperwork. They informed us that Suncastle Properties should have made us aware that paperwork had to be completed and an extra fee was necessary on top of what we had already paid. The employees at the club were very nice and told me exactly what we needed to do so I immediately began calling SunCastle Properties. I had to call the emergency after hours number and leave a message. I also emailed them. When I didn't hear back all weekend. I finally had to call them on Monday. The lady I spoke with was rude and basically didn't care. She even admitted to seeing my earlier messages! I tried to explain that having access to the club was the #1 reason we chose this house. It took several phone calls from me to finally get the paperwork. Unfortunately, we were not able to get it completed in time to enjoy the club. My entire family was extremely disappointed. We were misinformed about many things! While we loved the house, we all agreed we would NEVER rent through Suncastle Properties again.

The rooftop view was amazing and each floor was like having your own personal condo!! I would definitely book again for family vacation.
