Charming Leaning Pine cottage on Bass Lake with sunset views, just minutes from Interlochen Center for the Arts. Two bedrooms. Sleeps two in the master and four in the guest or use our bonus room space. This home has been lovingly preserved and decorated to retain the 1950s lake cottage feel. Bass Lake is ideal for swimming, kayaking, fishing, or just quiet reflection. Public boat launch is straight across from us. Nicely wooded lot for that true up north feeling.Traverse City, Old Mission/Leelanau wineries, Sleeping Bear Dunes, and Frankfort are each about a half-hour drive.

We've added a lovely bench swing that faces the lake, between two tall pines; sit there in the morning with coffee for a slow wake-up or in the evening with wine to enjoy the sunset.

We really enjoyed our week at this rental. The lake is quiet and great for fishing and kayaking. With the row boat, kayaks, fishing poles and grill included you can start enjoying the lake and outdoors immediately. The lake is shallow and safe for kids and dogs to swim. The description and photos are exactly what you get, no dishonesty or deception. Everything was great. -Mark, Clarkston, MI

We loved our recent stay on Bass Lake in this adorable 1950's era cabin. It was the perfect place to visit family on nearby Green Lake and to rest, recreate and recharge -- with a great location near Interlochen, Traverse City and more. The hosts were kind and responsive and the neighbors friendly. We loved using the rowboat, kayaks and dock - especially visits from a mother duck and ducking and beautiful loons and woodpeckers.

Overall stay was great. The rental does need a tv for the days we have nothing going on. We like to watch our shows or even Netflix. We did watch it on our phones but would have been nice to have a smart tv in each room. Air conditioning would be great in each room. We did have to break out the fans but that didnt solve the heat problem. Hard to sleep being so hot. The place needs a water treament or service the well. We had sulfer in our water in MD and its an easy fix. The smell was strong. Bathrooms need updated along with the kitchen. We did have an ant problem the first day but Lonnie got Orkin to come out and there was no problem afterwards. Overall, after getting use to all these things, it was a nice stay and quite. Fishing was good!

We had an unreal time fishing and boating, letting the pup swim, kind neighbors but quiet, great location. Very aesthetically pleasing and simple process. Has cornhole, firepit, dock, and all the fixings. Such a gem, one of my top top northern MI rentals. Thanks for such a fun trip for a new engaged couple, and their best friends. Beautiful pines, loons, and location was prime for us.

Our stay was perfect. Though we are very familiar with this lake, the views of it from this property is stunning. If your weather happens to be a little on the wet side, no fear, the large window with two comfy swivel chairs is the perfect place to sit and take it all in. The eagle across the lake peeks out and adds to the excitement.

Everything about Leaning Pine can be described as wonderful! The cabin, the property, the amenities, the view, the location. Our family enjoyed every minute! The only downside was that we couldn’t stay longer. Thank you to the owners for allowing our family to enjoy such a beautiful and peaceful place. We all needed a peaceful break from the daily routine and this was perfect!

What a lovely stay - it was cloudy on the days we were there, but we still had fun kayaking and visiting TC and wineries. 10/10 woulds stay again!

The house is exactly how it is described and shown online. We stayed for four nights - loved watching the sun set at night and rise in the morning. The outdoor picnic table was very appreciated as we ate all of our meals there. We loved the kayaks and my kids loved jumping off the dock. The fire pit was great to sit around at night. The kitchen is very well-stocked which we also appreciated. Sleeping Bear Dunes was only 40 minutes away; Traverse City was 30 min! Totally recommend this house!

I brought my family to this wonderful home after a summer session at Interlochen as a break before transitioning back to the high speed pace of the school year schedule. The home was clean and comfortable, we enjoyed rowing the boat on the beautiful lake, as well as the quiet surroundings. We will definitely return.

Beautiful! This little lake in the woods is the perfect setting to escape from the everyday hustle and stress. Kayaking, swimming, fishing, and sunsets make for a perfect day and evenings around the campfire or playing boardgames on the deck keep the fun going into the night. The house is charming and comfortable with plenty of space for everyone and the stunning view of the lake from the living room make you feel like you are enjoying lake time even when you are indoors. The property was clean and well stocked and beds were comfortable. This is great location to get away while having access to amenities with a short drive of 30 minutes or less.
