Lazy River Retreat | Pet Friendly, Private Resort-Style Pool

Our stay was peaceful and the property was well-maintained. The pool area was a highlight and the home was Beautiful and roomy. We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation at the lazy river retreat!

Run far far far away from ever renting from Southern Vacation Rentals. Worst customer service I’ve ever had from a host. All of my issues were met with nonstop excuses and zero solutions. The only thing consistent about their customer service is the lies they tell you. This company does not care about the customer experience and it shows through their interactions with renters. Now, on to to the house.. this house has potential with the right owners, Southern Vacation Rentals is severely neglecting this property and it shows through the state of the property. The house has algae growing all over it. The siding color is chipped and fading badly. The landscaping is lacking, dead plants and trees along with very little grass left along with old stinky mulch. The wooden fence is falling apart and rotting on more than half of it. The iron fence is heavily rusting and the gate would not stay shut without a bungee. The decking hasn’t been treated or painted in years. The outdoor furniture looks horrible and in need of replacing. The house is dirty and dusty. Black mold is growing in all showers. We came across 3 cockroaches while there. The pool heater does not work and SVR lied about sending someone out to look at it. The game room is in need of painting and has a musky smell. Carpet and furniture is all stained up and not clean. Dryer took over two hours to dry clothes. House does not have enough terry for guest. DO NOT RENT THIS PLACE OR USE SOUTHERN VACATION RENTALS. AVOID AVOID

We had someone at the house every day of our stay. To cut the grass, treat the pool, check on pool again, and the random work orders. But they never communicated when someone would be by. The fire pit outside didn’t work. The propane tank was out. We did inform the property and they replaced the propane tank the last day of our trip. Outside grill was very dirty and also didn’t work. We had to go buy a lighter to manually ignite the grill to start it. The outside patio chairs are very old, broken and coming apart, and cushions were dirty and very flat. The kitchen is small and has very few supplies. No mixing bowls, no pot holders, no oven mitts. Only had one kitchen towel. One roll of paper towels. We had to go buy our own paper products. No toilet paper in the upstairs bathroom. No extra rolls of toilet paper. Very few towels throughout the whole house. Some blinds are broken throughout the house. The light on the back side of the house stays on all night and shines in master bedroom.The door knob on the game room is falling off. The Q ball for the pool table was missing. We did message the property and a new set was brought to us three days later. There is no outside shower as stated in the description. Refrigerator is dented. There’s stains on the couch. Pictures are the best part of this house. It has a ton of potential but not kept up. We were not able to use the pool for half of our trip and when asked for a refund for the heated pool fee was told no.
