The Space:
A historic cottage in a historic city, Launceston Cottage was built in 1880 and its Victorian architecture style has stood the test of time, with stunning original features. Just a short 12 minute walk into Launceston CBD with shops, restaurants and bars to explore, and only an 8 minute drive to the must-see Cataract Gorge.

Beautifully presented from the front with a grey exterior, red coloured door, and green hedges, step inside to a warm, light-filled family home that is tastefully styled.

Three generous sized bedrooms all at the front of the home and each with built-in-robes, the master bedroom has a Queen bed, and bedrooms 2 and 3 have a Double bed and a King Single bed. Each bedroom has an original fireplace that adds stunning decoration to the room.

Large bathroom with a free standing red coloured bath is the centrepiece of the room, and a separate shower. The space is complemented by red and black cabinetry and a double vanity adding a cool and contemporary edge to the historic home.

Large light-filled lounge room and dining area with soft leather couches to melt into, neutral tones, big windows and French doors to let the fresh Tasmanian air flow through. This space is a place to relax and unwind after a day of wandering through Launceston’s treasure trove of restaurants and sights.

Stunning well-appointed kitchen, with sleek black appliances and benchtops as the building blocks to create delicious meals. Outdoors, enjoy sunny alfresco dining on the balcony to savour evening meals or a morning coffee.

Downstairs is a separate powder room and laundry with modern washer and dryer.

The Neighborhood:
Located in a quiet residential street, Launceston Cottage is a 12 minute walk to the centre of town. On your way, grab a coffee at Le Café on St George or Bread & Butter Café, just a short distance from the home.

In town, you’ll find all conveniences including grocery stores and shopping. For restaurants, you can’t go past Stillwater and Black Cow Bistro - two Launceston institutions. For excellent steak and seafood try Alida, which is set inside the Penny Royal, a former colonial-era theme park. For a great historic pub, try The Royal Oak Hotel, built in 1850.

For a day activity, head to scenic Cataract Gorge Reserve, just an 8 minute drive from the home for a magnificent natural formation along a 5 km stretch of river.

This property really only has TWO bedrooms. Bedrooms two and three are both in the same room (you have to walk through one yo get to the other) and are separated by a GLASS door. Zero privacy. Fine for kids I guess but not ok for a group Rest of the house was fine, but not done nicely with cheap fittings starting to hang off the wall

Check in was simple and easy. Close to the shops (if you're happy to walk up and down the hill). The house is charming and has been renovated however more care could be taken with cleaning as we had to get rid of a few cobwebs and spiders around the house and in the bedrooms.

Charming cottage that comfortably fit our family of five. Clean, nicely decorated rooms, laundry downstairs and the balcony with the views overlooking Launceston was a bonus as was parking.

Great location. House lovely and very clean. Maintenance required as bathroom fittings falling off wall and sink clogged, then strong electrical smell when using the cook top so couldn’t use.Had sent host message and text but no response ever received.

Great location, however we had a few issues during our stay, some which were resolved after contacting host, some were not. Unfortunately, we would not book to stay here again.
