A wonderful retreat with spectacular meadow and mountain views. We are the new owners of this 5 star reviewed vacation home. Meadow View Cottage is truly enchanted. You will find yourself not wanting to leave and when you do, you will want to return. Stay for two days or a week and enjoy the natural beauty and activities, while being able to return at night to a luxurious and warm environment. Meadow View sits well back from the paved/plowed road and is very private. We can accommodate seven guests, with three separate bedrooms, (two Queens, a California king and and one twin sleeper in Master Bedroom). There are two full bathrooms and a country kitchen looking out to the pines. Full amenities include shampoos, soaps, extra towel, kitchen supplies, and luxury bedding. Relax on the rocker on our full length front porch, sit out in the backyard off the master deck and enjoy parklike meadow views during the day and nighttime skies virtually covered with stars. Cook S'Mores at our fire pit or a good steak on our barbecue. We are on a paved road, so no extra dust in summer and snow plow service in the winter.

We are removing our temporary Covid-19 Policy Restrictions that required vaccination and testing.
We are located 35 minutes from Redding and Interstate Route 5. In Redding, tour the famous Sundial Bridge, take your kids to Waterworks Park or visit the Turtle Bay Museum and Animal habitat. Redding has complete shopping, to include a Costco, Mt. Shasta Mall and a Trader Joes to stock up before heading up the Mountain toward Lassen and Mountain View Cottage. We are within an easy mile walk to Lake McCumber (See photo).

Summertime, you can hike for hours or all day on the 129 miles of trails in beautiful Lassen Volcanic Park 11 miles to the east. Visit Burney Falls Park, a 45 minute drive, and hike to the Falls or go boating. Or just lounge around the lovely lakes in a kayak. Bike on quiet pine studded roads or fish for rainbow trout at Lake McCumber or Manzanita Lake or famous Hat Creek, all less than a half hour away. Wintertime, there is snowshoeing, cross country skiing, sledding, and some snowmobile trails in the park. There are some small wineries within a 30 minute drive and a wild horse refuge. There is a good size grocery store (Reeds Market) about 10 minutes down the road with its own deli counter and cafe seating. There is also a KOA campsite store about ten minutes down the road.

A wonderful home! Our hosts thought of every little thing to insure the comfort of their visitors, and were so easy to communicate with. The cottage was quite convenient to Lassen National Park and Burney Falls. We loved having meals outside, sharing the yard and meadow with the deer and squirrels. Highly recommend Meadow View Cottage.

What a great house in a wonderful location! We were visiting with 2 couples and a child and the house was a perfect size for us. The kitchen and bathrooms were stocked with just about everything, including a s'mores kit that we took advantage of. One of our favorite things was watching the visiting turkeys and deer in the mornings and evenings. The first few days were pretty hot, but between the air conditioning in the living room and the house fan, we were ok. We'd love to return some day.

This property was perfect for the 5 of us. It had everything you could want and then some. Very clean and comfortable. Great communication with hosts. Deer to watch in the morning and evening. Close to Shingletown and Mt Lassen National Park. Will definitely stay here again. Couldn't be happier with our whole experience.

The home and yard are beautiful as is the setting. Lots of amenities and extras to enhance our stay. For example, there was a charger in place for my wife’s Apple Watch. Our stay at Mark & Rima's home was perfect! The house worked perfectly for the 6 of us. The kitchen was well stocked and we lacked for nothing. Our 5 yo gra n.v dson was delighted with the Smores basket, along with the hobby horse in the backyard. Mark was super at letting us know the power had gone out and, again, hours later when it had been restored. We were at Lassen, so we weren't affected by the outage, but were grateful for his letting us know. It was the perfect location for visiting Lassen Nat'l Park. I highly recommend Mark & Rima's home.
