Last Mango in Hatteras 191: Private outdoor pool, hot tub, dock, & views

We had a fantastic time. The property is right on the beach with a beautiful view. Ample sleeping and kitchen accommodations. The furniture could use some updating. The family had a great time!!

Great time at Last Mango with the family (kids and elderly parents). House was amazing, and access to shops like Food Lion, Uglie Mugs Coffee House, shops and restaurants was super convenient. Love Avon. Will definitely stay there again!

The beds were comfortable. That's about it.

Beach, pool, hot tub. Needs a deep cleaning.

We received a decent amount of rain during our stay. The rain washed all the dirt from the pool deck right into the pool. The midweek pool cleaning was Wednesday. Come 5:30pm, no one had shown up so I called. Vacasa insisted someone was on their way. No one came. I called early Thursday. They told me someone should’ve come yesterday, duh. No one came Thursday either. The hot tub was also disgusting and caused our kids to break out. There were rusty nails all over the deck, a lot of them sticking up. Several cockroach sightings throughout the week. A poor patch job in one of the bedrooms caused part of the ceiling to fall in halfway through or stay. The outdoor shower does not latch from the inside so you need to take a shower with the door open. Not much privacy. The deck where the hot tub is does not have direct access to the pool area without going back into the house and down two flights of stairs. No ideal for kids wanting to have fun going from the pool to the hot tub. Overall, I would not recommend this house unless they put some care into it.

We enjoyed our stay here. Very close to the beach and plenty of bedrooms.

Beautiful house and a gorgeous view and easy beach access! The pool and the large wrap around decks made The Last Mango a nearly perfect spot.

Not clean. Not private. The Bch access is right next to the house. Everyone in the neighborhood uses it and passes by the pool. The House next door deck and this one are too close. The hot tub is old and jets don’t work and doesn’t stay hot. The hot tub cover is rotten and particles from it are floating in the tub. The master bed was comfy. But when I went to strip the sheets there was a huge pee or sweat stain on the mattress ( no mattress cover) had I known I wouldn’t have slept there. The furniture in the pictures is different. The couch that is there is cheap fake plastic. Very uncomfortable to hang out on. Overall dissatisfied and would not stay there again. The pictures are very good but totally misleading!!

LOVED the home. Well equipped, right on the beach, updated throughout. It is located in a great spot in Avon. Vacasa as a company - not so much. Two MAJOR issues with them. 1. They were doing beach replenishment right in front of the house. We were blocked out of getting to or using the beach access for several days, plus they were doing the work deep into the night (beeping/back up alarms on the backhoes, construction lights etc.). I picked and paid extra for this house specifically to be right on the beach. NO ONE warned us about the scheduled beach replenishment project. If they had, I would have picked another house or another week. 2. We had one of the AC units go out. It took Vacasa over two days to get someone out to look at it. Little to zero updates or communication from them despite repeated calls into their maintenance group. All in all, really put a damper on the whole family vacation. Sooooo, Vacasa and owner, am I getting a refund for paying extra to be right on the beach and not being warned I could not actually use or even get to the beach while I was in the house?

The home was laid out well and there was plenty of sleeping accommodations for everyone to be comfortable. The basement is a really nice space! The online description makes it seem like you can walk out from the basement to the pool, but there is no pool entrance - you have to walk around the outside of the house. Not a huge deal, but we were surprised by it. The house was not very clean upon arrival. We sent photos of the issues and they did send a second cleaning crew out, but all they did was make the beds.
