Stayed Aug 8, 2025This property has so much to do, you don't need to leave. We were there in August for 3 days. We were a family of 12 people. The kitchen was amazing with all the amenities you could imagine, and if you need anything, there is a Tops market about a mile away. We used the swimming pool, ping pong, air hockey, gas grill, fire pit, horse shoes, frisbee golf. So much to do. Spent a couple hours at Holiday valley, which is about a 5 minute drive. Also went to Griffis sculpture park. Great place to hike and see sculptures.

Stayed Jul 7, 2025The fifteen of us from 1 year old to our 80's thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay. Kids and grown-ups alike loved the clean and well-cared-for pool. The many little touches were great, lik the pool toys, the detergent by the washer-dryers, cofee-maker and utility sinks in the suites, the AC in the whole house. The game room and outside play area were well used, as well as the fire pit and outdoor grills. It can be hard to tell from the photos on the website, but the house was actually more spacious than in the pictures. We also enjoyed the restaurants, cafes and gift shops in Ellicottville. We all came away with great memories and pictures. Thanks Annette and David for a great stay.

Stayed Feb 14, 2025Accommodated everyone very well, but we didn’t realize everyone had to go outside to their bedrooms. Quite cold- and the stairs and porch were icy. No large gathering area. Would probably be perfect for a summer rental.

Stayed Sep 20, 2024We stayed at Sugar Pine Lodge for a long weekend to celebrate a 50th bday. 12 of us total. It was clean and convenient and worked out really well for us. You can tell it gets a lot of use – a bit worn – but it’s what we expected based on the pics and other reviews, so no surprises. And we found a lot to like about it. Location is perfect. Easy walk to the village. 2 minute drive to Holiday Valley. Pros: The pool and hot tub were very nice and well maintained The fire pit area was fantastic The game room/garage was great The Viking stove was a nice treat The separated sleeping areas were a big plus. TVs all worked well. Cons: Mattresses and furniture could use an upgrade. Someone expecting higher end accommodations might not like it. We never found the keys for the bike lock – but there are bikes there. The kitchen drawers need some attention. A few were broken or fragile. And the utensil selection was a bit thin. Notes: Quiet hours for the neighborhood behind the lodge start at 11:00 pm on the weekends and they are enforced by the neighbors. Honestly, there’s a ton of room inside so it shouldn’t be an issue but we all have that friend…. The Holiday Valley Aerial Adventure Park and Mountain Coaster are just up the road and were amazing. We had EBC’s Taqueria do drop off catering at the place for dinner. It was perfect - $22/pp and you get your own taco bar with plenty of food for everyone. So overall, if you have a group of 10-14 people, this place works out pretty well

Stayed Sep 12, 2024David and Annette were super great and easy to communicate with. The chalet is very dated in terms of decor but I took it as village charm. A nice 10 minute walk to town! Our biggest hurdle was that on our second day there the sewage or plumbing backed up causing the entire back half of the house to smell of urine and feces. The toilets themselves were not plugged. Unfortunately this resulted in most of our guests leaving as the smell was unbearable.

Stayed Sep 5, 2024The Sugar Pine Lodge was perfect for our family and our daughter's bridal party during an EVL wedding weekend. Everyone had their own space, yet the communal areas were perfect for lots of togetherness. We had a small rehearsal dinner BBQ on Friday night and with all the covered areas it was perfect with the uncertain weather. It was taking a step back in time with the decor, making for an extra cozy stay. Dave was very responsive to any questions that we had throughout the weekend. Great location to walk to town or HV.

Stayed Aug 8, 2024There was definitely plenty of space for everyone to enjoy themselves, great location, and the pool and game room were awesome to have, but this was not what we were expecting. -There was no mention of the sleeping quarters being outside the main house. Also slightly confusing to find the efficiency suite around the front of the building, totally secluded from the rest. -Stove, cooking utensils, dishes, etc were dirty and required cleaning before use. -Several a/c units did not function properly, blowing out hot air at times. -One of the pullout beds was broken -There was an electrical hazard in one of the bedrooms; Painter’s tape holding together loose/exposed wires. -The firepit was FULL of soot/dirt. There were no tools to clean it out, we filled an entire garbage can using just a frisbee. -The grill was covered in food residue and was unuseable. Smoked billowed throughout the neighborhood while we tried to burn it off for 15 minutes -Lighting features around the pool did not function. Could have been a safety hazard when we’re outside until 11pm. We were still able to have fun, but it was definitely a shock to discover the layout in person as well as the issues above.

Stayed Aug 1, 2024We loved our stay here. There were 15 of us - adult siblings with our young adult kids and our elderly parents. Having separate quarters for our sleeping areas gave us just enough privacy - and the main area is huge with plenty of room for all. All the conveniences needed in the kitchen. And so much to do - the ping-pong table, Fooseball, horseshoes and the pool and hot tub - we could have spent a week here! Walking distance to both the Ski resort and the main street with shops and restaurants. Definitely recommend this property!

Stayed May 31, 2024Had 20+ for a bachelor party. Excellent place with tons of room. Between the pool, hot tub, game room didn’t need to leave but short walk to town if you’d like to stretch your legs. Would definitely stay again.
