Palo Alto, California
Summary:
In the heart of the classic Old Palo Alto neighborhood, this charming cottage is convenient to Stanford University and Hospital, and to downtown Palo Alto itself. The 3 queen-sized beds are comfy, the kitchen is spacious, and the backyard has a barbecue, trellis, table, and chairs -- the perfect venue for evening cocktails and a barbecue! The driveway has space for two or three cars, and street parking is plentiful too.
Guest Access:
The guests have access to the entire home, except for the basement and except for some drawers marked "Owners".
The Neighborhood:
Old Palo Alto is a classic much sought-after neighborhood, with a mix of homes of all vintages. The streets are tree-lined and the neighborhood is perfect for leisurely strolls. Palo Alto High School -- called "Paly" by locals -- is nearby, as is Stanford University, Stanford Hospital, University Avenue, and a plethora of tech companies large and small.
Getting Around:
Keep in mind this is Silicon Valley suburbia, designed in the 1950s for cars, not for pedestrians, bikes, or public transit. If you don't have a rental car, you'll need to use Uber or Lyft, use public transit, bring a bike, or do a *lot* of walking. More streets are being made bike-friendly.
Other Things to Note:
Please be aware that the owners have dogs. While the home has been thoroughly cleaned, and we have tried to remove all dog hair, if you have a pet allergy, this may not be the place for you.
Interaction with Guests:
The home is only available when the owners are out of town, so you'll have the home completely to yourselves. The property manager lives 10 minutes away and is available 24/7 for any problems.
