Large Oceanfront Pet Friendly Home with Double Decks and Two Living Spaces!

On the plus side, the living arrangement worked out perfectly for the family as it allowed us to keep separate the small children from the dog they somewhat fear. The house sits a short walk to the beach, which was very nice, and one has a view of the ocean from the house. The open main living layout was great and felt roomy. The children did like it when they heard the train whistle several times a day and were able to see the train go by in front of the house. Inside, it was not as loud as one would expect for how close it is.For minuses, this house is very outdated, the refrigerator is very cheap where the drawers don’t connect to anything, there is no garbage disposal, only two of the four burners on the stove function, and it was not as clean as one would expect as there were multiple areas with cobwebs, including the shower. The toilet in the upstairs primary bath initially wouldn’t flush and we needed to fix that issue, which we did.Overall, I give this home three stars.

It was perfect for our large group. We had everything we needed and plenty of room for everyone to be comfortable. For that I give the experience a 5* review. Location so nice next to the beach. Loved sitting on the deck for morning coffee. I would have appreciated bush trimming for the ocean view... We experienced rain and fog but the deck provided shelter and comfort. -1 star because of the view obstruction.

If you value cleanliness, honesty, or basic hospitality—do not book this property. Meredith Properties failed to turn over the home and lied that it was ready. We arrived to filth, were told to “go to dinner,” and returned four hours later to find the upper unit untouched from the last renters and the lower unit still dirty. Beds had reused, unwashed sheets. From then on, management ignored our calls. We spent two days buying basics, cleaning, and trying to get help—while being gaslit the entire trip. The photos are misleading, the home is outdated and dirty, and the management is dishonest and unresponsive. Avoid at all costs.

We enjoyed the two floors for our family reunion. It was great to have two kitchens, two family rooms and enough bedrooms for each family members. The two minute walk to the beach was great. It felt like we had a private beach area. We loved waving to the train that came by during the day. A great place for our time together.

This property was a God-send! This was a family reunion for 13 (7 adults and 6 kids under 9) and 2 dogs for 10 days at the beach and I thought for sure it was ruined when we got news that the initial property we had reserved was taken off the market at the last minute. The initial properties offered in exchange were not acceptable and I was in despair when this property was made available. It was perfect! On 2 separate basically identical levels, it was ideal for our family - Kids and grandkids upstairs, grandparents, single adult and dogs downstairs (allowing for a little peace and quiet when the old folks needed it.) It was an absolutely beautiful location, easy walking access to the beach, nice back yard for the dogs. (We brought our own portable fencing). Lots of room for everyone, comfortable, and clean. It was wonderful! Everyone loved it and hopefully we'll be back soon!

When we booked this house, it looked to be nicely appointed and was supposed to be located in Manzanita. Neither was true. The house was in Rockaway, not Manzanita! Moreover, it was 2 separate residences. The stairs were outside, not inside, so we had to traipse outside to access the upstairs and the stairs were a bit treacherous for some of the guests. (Luckily the weather was ok.) We had to request towels immediately after arriving. There were no coat hangers in the closets. We do not feel we received a good value for this rental.We would not stay there again.

Had a great time staying at Lifesaver. Great location. Didn't realize the only access to both stories is outside. This is an issue in the rain. Needs a lot more coat hooks in both levels. No closet space. The internet was very flaky.

Great access to the beach. Perfect for our family

This was ideal for a family celebration of life. Easy walk to the beach for all ability levels. Well stocked with essentials with room for all to meet together or have private time. This is a very comfortable home-away-from-home

The house was set up really well with complete setups on both floors. They each had three bedrooms, two baths, and full kitchen living and dining rooms. Each floor was big enough to host dinner for eleven people. The top floor had a bit of an ocean view. You can tell the house has been well used as there is some wear and tear on furniture and flooring. But nothing that takes away from the space. We were lucky and had great weather all weekend and the town was fun to walk through. We enjoyed our reunion there.

This home is perfectly located in Rockaway, a quaint little town that worked out beautiful. I recommend the entire house for multi family use. The owners representative was kind, the home was clean and it was a peaceful spot. I recommend the train ride from Rockaway to Garibaldi - it was informative and fun and we saw two bald eagles. I’d use this home again.

There was enough bedroom and hang out space for a big family. The outdoor area and porches were awesome too. A short walk to the ocean enabled us to see the sunset everyday.

We enjoyed our stay very much! It was perfect for a large party however I do wish that some of the kitchen ware was updated as a lot of the things in the kitchen seemed old. thanks for a great stay anyway. Lisa
