Was a perfect fall weekend on Spider lake. The house was very clean and comfortable. Played a fair amount of foosball & ping pong while we were there. Took advantage of having a outdoor fire with the family on Saturday evening.

Stay was awesome. Lake was great.

We loved George’s Place! It was the perfect home for our 4 couples sibling retreat. 4 bedrooms and 3 & 1/2 baths accommodated us very well. It was super clean and well equipped. Wonderful location on the lake and yet a short drive to Traverse City. I especially enjoyed the Bluetooth bathroom speakers, as I didn’t bring my Mini Bose speaker, but I love listening to music while showering etc. We would definitely recommend and definitely book George’s Place again!

We had a soccer tournament in Traverse City, the house was perfect. Plenty of space, very nice indoors and out, the lake is beautiful. Hosts were great, highly recommend

This place was great for a fun winter getaway with friends. The layout of the house was perfect for a large group and was close to the activities that everyone wanted to do (ice fishing and snow mobile). The house was clean and the host was great with communication.

Our family members really loved this place, it was a lit of fun. Also, the house owner is really nice, the backyard was absolutely beautiful! Everything was so clean and great.

11 ladies stayed here for a sisters weekend. We really loved George’s place! It was our private getaway for us UP and lower Michigan ladies to meet. We enjoyed lots of shopping 20 min away, and the Sleeping Bear Dunes and large Lake Michigan beaches 1 hr away. The 80° early fall weather topped it all off. I hope to come back in the future.

House was absolutely great. Lots of room to spread out. Rooms were all comfy. View was stunning. Be prepared for steps if you utilize waterfront. Lake was quiet and easy to get around in for novice water sport users. Close to TC. Be mindful of how many cars can come. Driveway is tight. Would definitely come again! Hosts were available and helpful! Close to TC

Robert was very kind and accommodating. Great communication. The house renovations made it feel brand new. Plenty of space for our two families, 4 adults and 6 children. We brought up our 19’ boat which Robert allowed us to keep on his dock. The lake is awesome, we did a lot of swimming. Thanks for a great week of memories with our family!

Our group contained 11 people - ages 52-10. Location on Spider Lake was wonderful - we could stay and play all day or take easy drives around TC area, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Macinac, etc. Lots of hiking, biking and multi-use trails. Inside: House layout worked great for us - very functional kitchen with great appliances and open to rest of first floor living area. It was the best stocked vacation home we’ve ever stayed in - had everything you might have forgotten or need (paper towels, TP, soap, bath towels, laundry/dish detergent, coffee filters, etc!) Outside: House sits close to and just above the water: 4 tiers of flat hang out spots: deck, upper level sandy area with fire pit, lower level flat sandy beach and the sturdy metal dock w/ stairs provide several good hangout spots. We even rented a large pontoon boat for a day from a nearby resort (walking distance from house) and could pick up and drop off people at dock. Our “kids”’ ages ranged from 10-24) and they all enjoyed themselves: Lots of successful fishing, SUPing, kayaking, reading, etc! The vertical of backyard would be a little challenging with toddlers (just something to consider.) Spider Lake: This lake is small & quiet - great fishing, clear water (clean, sandy bottom) and the 7:30p- 11a quiet hours were nice. Saw Loons, Bald Eagles, etc! Kids could go all over the lake in the kayaks or SUPs & explore the smaller inlets and islands all over the lake. Bob was a great host - would def stay here again!!

House not cleaned after last people. Outside garbage cans overflowing. Host sent someone on Saturday to touch up bathrooms. Only one couch in living area for 12 people. The lake was beautiful though and we rented a pontoon boat so everyone had fun.
