Summary:

Situated with a westerly view of the North Atlantic, immersed in Newfoundland culture and steps to world class hiking trails and stunning scenery, this century-old home has been renovated for modern comfort. Ideal for a family of four, it has 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms and can sleep up to six. Equipped with laundry, TV and WiFi, Lands End guests can make themselves feel at home. The eat-in kitchen is well appointed for dining, and the private backyard is ideal for relaxingin the sunshine.

The Space:

You'll enter the home into the large kitchen, which opens up to a living area. There is a four-piece bathroom and a bedroom with double bed also on the main floor. Upstairs you'll find 2 additional bedrooms: One with a queen bed with a three-piece ensuite, and the other with a double bed and a two-piece ensuite.

You'll have access to the whole home with the exception of the garage. There is ample parking in front of the property.

The Neighborhood:

While staying at Lands End you can enjoy a quiet evening stroll along the nearby oceanside beaches or have a family picnic in Mudford's Cove. From high up on the point you can watch the sunset, see icebergs in June, or listen to the sounds of whales in August. Just up the road you will find spectacular cliff views, beaches and hiking trails at historic Long Point Lighthouse. Travel 4km into nearby Twillingate and you can take a whale watching tour; go ocean kayaking; or enjoy the rich Newfoundland culture with some locally brewed award-winning beer, the Twillingate Dinner Theatre, or visit a Shed Party or Kitchen Party where you can sample local musical and comedic talents. Fresh blueberries can be found just about everywhere in late summer along any of the fifteen hiking trails, with a wide variety of terrain suitable for relaxed or athletic hikers.

Getting Around:

Driving is the most typical way that visitors explore Twillingate Island. That said, it is a walker/hikers dream. Whether you prefer the road or the trails, there is so much to explore.

Other Things to Note:

The owners of Lands End trace their roots in Twillingate back to the early 1800s with ship's captains and shop owners, Anglican priest's and court judges. They have always loved Twillingate, are captivated by its tranquil beauty, and are excited to share this with their guests.

A clean, cozy home. We loved that the upstairs bedrooms had bathrooms and there was also a bathroom downstairs for the main floor bedroom…perfect for four adults. Great location…Lottie’s Lookout down the road has a beautiful view of sunsets. We would recommend this sweet house!

The house is exactly as shown and described. Marie the host was quick to respond and willing to provide the extra tips to help you have a wonderful experience. We were 2 adult couples looking for icebergs in June. Bucket list item checked. Having the bedrooms and bathrooms on separate floors gave privacy when wanted. The kitchen has everything you need to Live for the week. On site laundry allows you to travel with carry-one. The location has wonderful views and cliffs within walking distance. As noted, a car is required for investigating further away. We absolutely recommend The Lands End as your place to stay.

Enjoyed our stay. Well supplied, with the the lack of a can opener. Thermometer outside would be nice for folks that don't have access to Internet. Thanks Neil Linda and Jane

Living in Ontario but vacationing in NL. We travelled to Twillingate for a Dinner Theatre with a last minute booking. We were fortunate with last minute requests to find this rental on Vrbo. The host was very accommodating and the rental home was very clean. We were a group of six family members and were concerned we wouldn’t find a suitable place. Landsend was awesome. Thanks so much for the memories!
