Excellent property. Everything you could ask for. Very relaxing and amazing view of the lake. Attention to detail exceptional.

The house was very well equipped and beautifully decorated inside and out. There are a few stores and restaurants in walking distance but you will need a car to get to most places. However the lake view is lovely and it's a perfect spot to relax.

This property is amazing. The pictures don’t do it justice- the house and the yard are gorgeous. The house is perfect for a small family or two couples. All of the furnishings/fixtures show that so much thought was put into the property. We would love to stay here again.

Everything was great!

The house had everything you could want and more. The whole place is recently updated. It exceeded my expectations. Every nice having 2 full bathrooms. I’d love to stay again. The extras in the kitchen like butter and half & half were appreciated! We tried fishing but no luck. Only thing better is if we caught some fish ;)

We had a great weekend here! The place is spotless and beautifully updated! The view is gorgeous! The owner has provided everything needed and great communication.

This was our third stay, and it was great as usual. The host is awesome from the start of the booking process, during the stay and upon departure. The location on Lake Erie is wonderful with daily changing views of the lake. The house and property are always immaculately clean.

The home was as advertised! I have stayed at many properties in my travels and this by far was the most impressive of them all. George (the host) was very accomodating and pleasant. He has thought of most things any visitor could need and delivered a 5 star experience for myself and family. The veiws of lake Erie from the waterfront property are breathtaking. The outdoor accommodations are equally as great as the interior of the home. I will definitely be returning in the spring. I just want to say thank you to George and Ron the neighbor who was very helpful and friendly.

My sister and I take one or two trips a year together. We have been doing this for 30 years. This was absolutely the best place we have EVER stayed!! The hosts were amazing and attentive. The location was beautiful. The house was unbelievably wonderful with absolutely everything you could ever need. We will definitely be back :)

Wonderful lakeside property. Very clean and well maintained on a quiet street. We enjoyed the outside seating areas overlooking the lake. The house was well stocked with supplies and had all the amenities we needed. Would definitely stay here if we are in the area again.

My sisters and I had a wonderful stay at the lakeside retreat house. This was our second stay and everything was very clean and the house had everything we needed. We are so pleased, our host he was a phone call away if we needed anything which is very comforting.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home is beautiful and tastefully decorated. The Victorola and the selection of music was an added bonus. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the upper patio while watching the Neighbourhood eagle and various other sea birds. We even had a surprise visitor, the local groundhog. Everything we could possibly want to make our stay enjoyable with furnished. We loved our stay at the Lakeview retreat.

This house is the perfect place for rest and relaxation. This was our third stay and we enjoy it more every time. The house is new and clean and has every amenity imaginable. The neighborhood is very quiet, the view of the lake is ideal, and there are several different comfortable places to sit outside. This is my wife's and my favorite VRBO. We plan to continue going back. I can't recommend it more highly for couples wanting to get away from it all.

This vacation rental is a true gem that I would give 10 stars if I could. We have stayed at a lot of vacation rentals and this one ranks among the top. To start, the location is beautiful. It was so tranquil sitting on the water and we didn't experience any noisy neighbors. The house was immaculate and they thought of everything you might need, from a well stocked kitchen to the little amenities like cords in the bedrooms and living room to plug in your devices. The air conditioning was fantastic and the beds were really comfortable, which is a make it or break it for me. Also, both bathrooms upstairs had big walk-in showers, which we appreciated. The location was great, only a few blocks from main street and a half mile to the wonderful public beach. We came to celebrate our 25th anniversary and it was perfect! We can't wait to go back again.

This was our third year at this property. We will be coming back again next year! The property is always clean and beautiful. They treat us very, very well.

Cleanliness impeccable.Very well equipped. Great setting directly on Lake Erie Shore.Enjoyed the great views of the Lake from the sun & dining rooms and from the outdoor patio and the back bedroom and adjoining upper deck. We especially enjoyed the sunsets from the small back yard patio overlooking the lake.

This Lakefront house is even better than the pictures. It is the best rental we have ever stayed at. Whoever cleans the house does an awesome job. Both the upstairs and downstairs rooms are superb, beds are comfortable, ceiling fans in each bedroom along with ceiling fans in every room downstairs except the kitchen also.All bathrooms have been remodeled along with the entire house inside and outside. The 2 main bathrooms upstairs are awesome. Large old fashioned soaking bathtub and walk-in shower in 1 bedroom and large walk-in shower in the other bathroom. Appliances are up to date and comfortable couch and chair in front room that looks out over Lake Erie. Outside the back is table and chairs to overlook the Lake and at edge of back room is a gas firepit with chairs and 2 small tables. You can then walk down concrete steps to a upper concrete pad with old large concrete benches and then walk down to a lower level that is also concrete that extends to the large rocks that protect the property. Also outside is a bbq grill that is hooked up thru a natural gas line, no need to worry about running out like small propane bottles. The grill was scrubbed and clean and was not dirty or filthy. Oh also, outside the upper bedroom facing the lake is a walk out to a large balcony with chairs and table with awesome views. Quite neighborhood and close restaurants and downtown and Lakefront park with beach.Easy to communicate with owner if needed. You will not be disappointed.

This property is AMAZING! The view is STUNNING! The fire pit was FABULOUS! The house is absolutely gorgeous with high end decor all around and fully stocked with EVERYTHING you could possibly imagine. The thoughtfulness that George and Ron put into making this stay perfect is evident and there is not enough room to list them all (Bag of ice, mints, movies, games, music, toiletries, first aid supplies, even ketchup and mustard :)) You name it and it is probably there somewhere. I highly recommend this house for your next stay. It was perfection.

We stayed here over th long graduation weekend at Oberlin. Wish we had found it earlier in her 5 years. Oberlin is a straight shot down from the lake, 13 miles, an easy & relaxing 25 min The title gives our summary of the property. We particularly enjoyed the many herons and occasional osprey cruising by the water's edge up high. Lovely sunsets too! Attentive, helpful, unobtrusive hosts.

My stay at the Lakeside Retreat residence was for my 13 year Anniversary. We enjoyed the quietness and the view. My host was a blessing because he let me come early and that really helped us with traffic. So thanks again! Very nice place I would definitely come again.

We’ve stayed in rentals in San Diego, SC, NC, KY, FL, AZ & more. I’ve learned to pack all sorts of ‘just in case’ items, and in this trip, I needed NONE of them. Plenty of towels, tissues, seasonings, trash bags, extra blankets, games, outdoor chairs and cushions, local information, sewing kits, and even ear plugs. This was the first rental I didn’t feel the need to clean surfaces prior to using them. Perfect stay!

We stayed at George’s home while visiting our daughter at Oberlin College. The home was perfect for our stay. Will definitely be back!

This property was amazing! It had everything we needed and was so clean! The whole house is cute and comfortable. George is so kind and accommodating. We absolutely loved the lake views. You can’t beat them! We especially loved the views from the upstairs deck. There is a great pier walk and nature trail around the pond within walking distance. We looked for birds each morning. I live in the area so it was like a hidden jem for me. It had all amenities you need and ones you didn't think of. The scenery and nature was BEAUTIFUL. This was my first time renting a house and i think i will never go back to hotels again.

We stayed for two nights on a recent visit to Cleveland. The house was fantastic, clean and comfortable. It was cold outside but the wonderful view of the lake was what we needed to rest. We plan to be back! Thank you George!

We travel frequently and have stayed in a number of vacation rentals. Lakeside Retreat is by far the best home we have ever stayed in. The owners gave thought of everything. From the wide array of comp toiletries that would cover nearly anything you may have forgotten, to the charging cords; and fully stocked kitchen with standard condiments, water and anything you might need to make a delicious meal. The place was beyond clean and super cozy and comfortable. The view, even in the dead of winter, was gorgeous. I almost want to keep this place a secret, it’s that good! A hidden gem in the heart of Lorain. I cannot wait to come back in the summertime and really enjoy the outdoor space.

The stay was absolutely wonderful! I booked this place for my partner and I semi-last minute for a Valentine’s Day weekend getaway. We are both lovers of waterfronts, so this place was perfect (and reasonably priced). The check in process was very easy and the property has numerous amenities from bubble bath to coffee mate in the fridge. The property is renovated, well kept, and as advertised. The views of the waterfront are not exaggerated, and one can really walk down to the lakeside with ease. This place was beautiful during the winter amid the backdrop of a frozen lake. During our stay, we unfortunately had unexpected snow and the roads got dangerous. George, the host, was very kind to let us extend the trip by one day and was in contact throughout the whole process. We appreciate his understanding on that matter. Overall, this was a 10/10 trip and we hope to come back!

Another great fall stay at the Lakeside Retreat. The view of the lake is amazing from outside and inside. We love to watch the boats go back and forth all day. Immaculately clean inside and out. Kudos to the cleaning crew! The home has everything you need and more. Communication with the owner was great. We rarely give a five-star rating, but this rental certainly deserves it. A little about the area: there is a fresh fish market, Ardick Seafood, within a few minutes where you can get perch, walleye and more. The Paper Moon Vineyards is about 20 minutes away. The Quarry Hill Orchards and winery is a fun stop within 30 minutes. Try a snoogle at Kiedrowski's bakery or stop into Marta's N more bakery downtown Lorain (although they have limited hours). And just a couple of minutes to the Marina where you can take a walk on the mile long pier. Only 40 minutes or so either way to Sandusky or Cleveland. This place is a great find!

Our fourth stay at Lakeside Retreat in the past two years is just as rewarding as the first. The owners have taken the provisions and environment (inside and out) several steps beyond our expectations. Top quality throughout!! A message to new searching tenants….look no further, you will find all of your expectations met and more when booking a stay at the Lakeside Retreat. This was my second stay here and I loved it even more than the first time. The neighborhood is quiet, the house is clean and bright, the decor is lovely and very tasteful, the beds are comfortable, the kitchen and bathrooms are fully equipped with everything you could possibly need (and my wife adored the bathtub), and the lake view is spectacular. Probably the nicest VRBO I've ever stayed in.

There isn’t anything bad to say about this house or the host. Communication was always clear and responded to very timely. The home is immaculately clean. They have thought of and provided any and everything you could possibly need while staying there. They even provide a wide variety of convenience items you may have forgotten. The home has wonderful views of the lake from many rooms and there are tons of outside seating options. The surrounding neighborhood isn’t the best, but the actual street the home is on is fine, and we had no problems while staying there. Overall, Great place to stay.

This is our second time staying here and it was even better than the first (which was also awesome)! Beautiful and clean like last time but a few more kitchen amenities were provided, and the weather cooperated for us more this time. Highly recommend this rental!!

The place was perfect! They definitely put time and thought into the finer details of making this place a great place for short-term rentals. They had all kinds of little quirks about the place that made you feel just a home; to the point, if you forgot something......they most likely had it in stock in the house for you to use; from toiletries to feminine products, to bandaids, and beyond. Excellent host and would definitely stay there again.

We’ve never stayed in a property that was as immaculately clean! The layout of the home was wonderful- but the views of the lake! Whether from the upstairs porch, the downstairs porch or the small deck closer to the water sitting around the fire pit- Heaven! Just a perfect getaway. Always important- the beds were very comfortable. We admittedly didn’t go out much, but the marina and boardwalk were a fun place to visit. The area appears to be going through some revitalization so there may be more things to do in the community as that develops. Note that there’s no swimming off the property- there’s no good transition to the lake and it’s not allowed, but it in no way kept us from enjoying to property. Highly recommended!
