Stayed Sep 16, 2025Great family house with awesome views! Easy access down short gravel road. Close to Newport, but feels far away. Late summer season is very quiet and peaceful.

Stayed Oct 18, 2024House was very spacious and quite nice! The view of the lake was pretty too. However for a home that can sleep 18, they weren’t enough towels for everyone for 3 days. Had to do laundry a lot. As for the kitchen, disappointed. It was not stocked whatsoever. No table salt and pepper, no vegetable oil, no aluminum foil, no scissors, not enough trash bags. Air hockey table barely worked and looked like someone took revenge on it, kinda beat up. Most of the remotes in the rooms needed new batteries and a lot of the light bulbs went out during my three night stay. Or some rooms had no light at all. There were no paddle boards or kayaks as advertised, and hot tub was closed for the season (along with the pool but that is common sense) Specifically booked this home for its access to the hot tub and to see it was closed and Ill-maintained was very upsetting. Trash wasn’t picked up every morning like promise and was an overflowing eye sore. Again, 18 people, there will be trash produced! There were little to no cleaning supplies either, no all purpose spray or disinfectant, one singular roll of paper towels for the whole weekend. No broom or vacuum. No Tupperware to store cooked food either. Water from all faucets was very slimy and smelly, Hard to rinse soap off and out of your hair. The grill was great! Tools and lighter were provided and it worked as it should! We were not informed of the long and winding gravel road coming in, that was an unpleasant surprise and made going to

Stayed May 11, 2024Great location. Roomy, well-appointed home. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, plenty of clean linens and towels. Beautiful water views. This was a quick, two-day trip to check out the Douglas Lake area. Everyone in our group of 10 agreed we’d like to come for a longer visit. Thank you for the excellent stay!

Stayed Nov 4, 2022Our stay was not bad but a few things could have been better. 1. No wash cloths were available. Dish cloths were a little rough looking as well. 2. The closet with towels was definitely out of order - towels and sheets were folded but on the floor. 3. The soap that's in the shower dispenser is the same as the hand soap we use to wash our hands. Luckily we were brought some body wash. Just a suggestion- It would be great if you had a TV mounted on the brick wall when you first enter because even though you have the TV downstairs, most of the time kids will be downstairs watching TV and playing. A TV upstairs would be for the adult to enjoy, like I said it is just a suggestion. Also, maybe put up some curtains or blinds on the big glass windows because people next door can look right into the villa. I met a nice man as we were packing our vehicles , I didn't get his name but he was checking the villa next to ours (#1) and he was so pleasant to talk to and he explained why the water was so low in the lake. Overall our stay was great.

Stayed Jul 23, 2022We came with college friends and kids for our annual summer trip, but this was our first time at Douglas Lake! The property was beautiful, just as described, and the views were awesome. We rented a pontoon but did take advantage of the paddle boards - and it was fun just floating around off the dock. The pool is a little smaller than I thought, but it is gorgeous with the views and has a large pool deck and a bathroom, which I thought was super helpful. Grocery stores were a little further than I hoped, but Instacart was available (we ordered from Publix). The closest marina was a decent stretch away - about 20-30 minutes - we weren't bothered by it! Beds were super comfy and all the bathrooms were really nice and updated. If I had one thing that wasn't super great, it was that the kitchen wasn't equipped with many serving dishes, especially bigger bowls - we found two, but we made do. The dishware was also a little sparse. Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg only about an hour away - we went one day but had much more fun at the lake! Some of our group went ziplining one day and loved it. We all decided we would definitely come back!

Stayed Nov 11, 2021Spacious but don’t bring boat! Directions take you to a house, took 2 1/2 hours to try to get boat out of there. If you do not have 4 WD don’t bring boat! Nice place but definitely should let people know about crazy drive to it.

Stayed Jul 31, 2021We celebrated 50 years as a family with 17 of us for a week. The house was perfect! It was great to have each couple have a king bed and pile the cousins in the bunk room. We enjoyed the deck for meals looking over the lake. The lake is amazing. Super calm and warm, so great for swimming/skiing/tubing. The pool was a nice treat. It’s far out there and on hilly gravel for a while but worth it for such a great house with the lake.

Stayed Jun 13, 2021The Villa was clean and spacious with plenty of room for 6 couples. The sunset views were amazing, The infinity pool was wonderful. However, if you plan on bringing a boat/jet skis, the boat launch shown in the photos may not be usable. It was filled with logs at the bottom and a very steep incline into the water. After moving the logs aside, we were able to launch the jet skis, but we were unable to pull the jet skis out of the water because the ramp was too steep. If a boat ramp is not a requirement for your group, then I highly recommend this property.
