Lake Ellen is closer to Chicago/Milwaukee than much of Northern Wisconsin. It's closer than Hayward and a similar drive as Eagle River/Minocqua.
This was our third time staying here. We have soo much fun here.
We really enjoyed our stay at this lake home. The house is roomy, Russ is a great communicator, the lake is super quiet and clean, and the location is very peaceful.
There was plenty of room for the 10 of us and the house was very well laid out. The kids spent every day on the dock, riding the paddle boat and fishing boat. There is no air conditioning but once we opened all the windows it was very pleasant inside the house. Overall I would definitely come back!
House is comfortable and had plenty room to relax. We enjoyed Lake Ellen and the area, perfect family vacation. Owner is very easy to reach with any questions.
House was well maintained and equipped except for issues below. The accommodations were very nice. The kayak, paddleboat and board even though we brought some of our own were a plus. The owner Ross got back to us quickly with any questions we needed answered. Vrbo kept emailing me to suggest I book the rental before it is full when I had already booked it back on Sept.8 2021.The owner had difficulties trying to contact VRBO to straighten this out.It appeared it was no fault of his.He assured me that I had booked it for the week desired.A list of kitchen items available in the rental on their site would have been helpful. There was a couple of issues that were passed on to Ross the owner which I believe he will address, the downstairs shower the mixing valve needs to be replaced could not get cold water without the water shutting off in the tub shower. We could smell septic outside and the upstair toilet parts need to be replaced, couple of times the water pump ran almost continuously until you giggled the handle. I give it a rating of 3+ and a 5 when the issues are addressed.
The house is very nice. It is well laid out and has plenty of room. The early risers in our group did not disturb those that like to sleep in. Our group of seven was able to all sit at a the dining table together for meals and board games. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, dishes, etc. Lake Ellen is great for swimming and floating. We also caught few fish.
Beautiful inside and out. View is fantastic. Great place for kayaking. We had 12 of us and bought 8 kayaks. Plenty of room for them at dock. But watch out for ceiling fans. Lol and bring extra toilet paper. Our 12 butts ran out.?
This place is awesome!!! Gorgeous sunsets and sunrises! Very secluded. Fully stocked with virtually everything you need. Owner readily available if you have any questions. We were very pleased with our stay and plan on returning. Highly recommend.
The property is very nice. The views are beautiful and the wildlife is plentiful. Fishing was very good. It was extremely warm the week we were here and there isn't air coditioning which made it a little uncomfortable, but we had a wonderful time with our family.
This is our second visit to LakEllen cottage, great sunsets, fun lake time, overall our family had a wonderful time, we hope to return again soon.
