Family Activities-: Keeping the kids happy can make or break a vacation, but when visiting Otsego County, boredom is never a consideration. When the weather won't cooperate or the little ones have just plain run out of things to do, that's when it's time to venture out and discover the many attractions that can put smiles back on their faces. The Otsego County Sportsplex, where kids and grownups can swim in an Olympic-size pool or rent a pair of skates an take to the ice for 'wintertime' fun, even as the sidewalks are sizzling outside. Adjacent to the Sportsplex is the Energy Outlet, a quaint park filled with slides, swings and climbing equipment, all designed to delight and distract the kids from any thoughts of boredom. Throughout the park are structures embedded with information and etchings of the dinosaur age, and surrounding all the fun stuff is a paved walking track.
and more family activities...: At Call of the Wild, fun and learning go hand in hand, and it's almost a sure thing that kids want to go back again and again. After touring the outdoors, vistors can step outside the museum to ride on a go-kart or play a round of miniature golf. Checking out the wildlife museum is great fun, but to catch a glimpse of the real thing, a stop at the elk-viewing area at the end of Grandview Boulevard (just east across South Otsego Ave. from Wiscousin St) will afford you a close-up view of North Michigan wildlife. If you still have energy after all that, give some through to seeing a movie at Gaylord Cinema on M-32 West, which shows several different features daily.
A great location. Big lot, plenty of room in the house. Quaint lake community. My daughter already wants to go back.
We had a great time staying at your cabin. Close proximity to hikes we did. The cabin had everything we needed and more. The fire pit area and privacy was awesome.
Came back to see Lake Arrowhead After 40 years, had wonderful childhood memories here. It’s still a beautiful place. House was in great location, rained both days so didn’t do much outside.
This is the 6th time my family, friends and I have stayed at this property. LOVE IT!! If you are looking for peaceful with beautiful scenery, this is it.
Cabin is equipped with everything we needed. We really enjoyed being at the end of the road. Swim and float area was a nice surprise (not weedy).
I highly recommend this house. It was clean, comfortable, and a short 10 min drive into Gaylord. The privacy of this property is what really stood out. It's at the end of the street with no neighbors on the left side, which is where the fire pit is located. Lots of split wood if you like to have fires at night. The lake is beautiful and clean. The owner, Mitch, was very responsive. Made a 45 minute trip up to Mackinaw city and took the ferry to the Island for a day. Was a great experience! Definitely rent bikes and ride the entire road around the island.
Beautiful week on the lake. Enjoyed spending time with our adult children. Our Lab had a great time.
Awesome
Plenty of room to hang out with our dogs by the beautiful lake, great fire pit for socializing, and convenient to large expanses of public lands and small towns for supplies. Everything we needed for a weeklong stay was on hand.
Loved the quiet lake experience. Just what we needed. And, the colors of the fall leaves were incredible.
This house is at the end of a quiet street and at least when we were there, no one was in the house next door. We enjoyed the fire pit in the mornings, kayaks in the afternoons, and fishing off the dock. The beds are very comfortable, the kitchen had what we needed (bring your own coffee!), and we would absolutely come back. Day trips to Old Mission Peninsula (wine tasting), Traverse City and Mackinac City were easy and beautiful drives.
Excellent location. Perfect up north getaway
Great place to stay! Kitchen had everything you could possibly need. Very tidy place. Plenty of towels! Easy communication with owner. Loved that we could park right by the house. Enjoyed the wrap around deck everyday! Golfed twice at The Natural. Great course and not overly packed and fairly close. Great trip. We would book again.
We had a fantastic time in our Arrowhead Lake Cabin! It was so peaceful being on the lake. Loved the wrap around deck and having it partially covered was nice too! Close to places like Traverse City and Petosky to take day trips to! Cabin was perfect for our family!
My family and I had a great time during our week at the cabin! It was pretty well cleaned (could prob use a deep clean at some point) and very nicely stocked with mostly everything we needed. Although it doesn’t have a/c it is equipped with fans in all the rooms throughout the house. The lake is beautiful and the location of the house is very private. We enjoyed the provided kayaks. Side of house with bonfire put is huge! Plenty of room for outdoor games. We would definitely stay here again. We also rented a pontoon through A&R rental on the lake and it was great!
We are regulars at this property and hope to keep coming back every year. The property itself is great, but the friendliness of the locals and the other families on the lake make it a special place to visit. Very dog friendly location at the end of the lane.
We had the most relaxing weekend, everything was perfect and had everything we needed!
only addition I would have preferred would be to have some information about the lake itself posted; like type of fish in lake and maybe a depth map in the cabin, and what type of bait fish seem to prefer (ie fish here like purple crank baits)
