Lakefront Northwoods Retreat for Swimming, Fishing & Relaxing at The Bird House!

I cannot say enough good things about Erica and this property! It was exactly as described, incredibly clean, and had absolutely EVERYTHING we needed (and didn’t know we needed). Erica was incredibly responsive and was an excellent host!It was myself, husband, our two boys (21 and 13) and my parents. There was plenty of room for everyone. We historically stayed at one of the lake resorts, but found we had outgrew the space. We all had a fantastic time and there was plenty of room for all to have our own space. I would highly recommend staying at this property.

House is very clean, kitchen has everything you need and nice view of lake. We had a great week!

We loved staying at the Bird house. We saw many bald eagles, otters, and ducks. Campfires every night. Plenty of room for all the people. The most well stocked kitchen with anything you could need. We rented a pontoon from a recommendation by Erica and couldn't have been happier. Would highly recommend if you like a perfect kitchen and excellent views of a great lake. Erica was always available too and so easy to communicate with before, during, and after our stay.

It was a perfect setup for what we needed. Erica was very accommodating and has a great eye for decor. She was able to address ALL cabin necessities. Loved that she had so many game options for little and big including croquet and ping pong. We will definitely try to make it back again next year!

The house was great! Everything was very clean and the beds were really comfortable. The basement was the perfect space for the kids to run around.

Erika was excellent at communication and her home is very clean and well kept. We had everything we needed. The king size beds were very comfortable. Fans were provided and extra bedding for warmth if needed. (we had a chilly weekend so that was needed for us) The view off the deck is so pretty. We saw loons and eagles. We caught many fish. (brought our own boat) We used the fire pit. We did not utilize the lower level much, except the bathroom but I can see if you had kids how it would be a great place for them to hang out. We used the grill as well and that worked out great!! We would come back for sure!

Our birdhouse stay was wonderful. The house fit 10 people perfectly. Our group was very comfortable in all of the beds. Teenagers, and young adults especially enjoyed the ping-pong table. I would highly recommend this rental for anybody looking for rest and relaxation on a lake. The host was very easy to connect with and knowledgeable about the area.

We had a great time this weekend. The cabin was excellent, very clean and inviting. The view was spectacular. The kids (and grown-ups) had fun fishing, tubing and playing ping pong. Thanks for a great stay!

Our two families enjoyed are few days in the home. Fit 10 easily, w/plenty of room for all. Kitchen set up worked well for eating with larger group. Location was great if we needed/wanted to run to town. Was able to rent boat nearby and jet ski in town. Everyone enjoyed their time!

Our summer fishing group consists of 8 college friends who have been getting together for over 30 years. It’s not easy to find accommodations for that many guys, but The Bird House had more than enough room. Erica was very accommodating! The cabin is Tastefully decorated with a beautiful location and constant eagle fly overs made this stay as relaxing as it could be. The onsite fish house and separate garage freezer for fish just adds to the experience. Not to mention the kayaks that were available for daily use. Only draw back is the dock can only handle 2 boats comfortably, but with a little ingenuity we made it work for three. This is our second stay and will definitely be back! Thanks Erica!!

Great location on the lake just outside Birchwood. East 25-30 min drive to Hayward, Rice Lake, and other locations.
