House smelled of mold. There was a smell of dog urine around the couch.Probably could have used a quick once over to get rid of dead bugs on the floor.

Outside, great views of the lake. Negative was a dripping gutter that was full on the steps going to front door. Also, the front door lock code is the longest I have ever seen in my life (this should be 4 or 5 digits at most). Inside, linens were clean. Coffee pot had to be cleaned by us. The biggest negative inside is it has a musty old house smell and no door on the bedroom in the basement (a curtain). Not a big deal since we were there as a couple with no one else, otherwise, this could be a negative. They should also provide a sheet/book on things to do in the area, how to work the tv, etc. Vacasa was great with text messages.

Beautiful place that we all loved. Amazing view/area and close to great coastal restaurants. Will be looking forward to coming back to this beautiful home/property. Cannot say enough good about the place.

I love this house with all of my heart. I wish I could live in it for the rest of my life. My husband will be coming back every March or April for our birthdays to spend here. I hope it never gets demolished. I also love how close it is to town and just the feel of the house. I can't wait to come back next year!

Frustrating communicating for help when the keypad did not work. There was no instructions where the lock boxes were for alternate access. If the cleaning lady had not been there at 4pm when we arrived to let us in, I am not sure how we would have done. The phone number listed on the refrigerator to call had a voicemail message that she would return calls within 24 hours. It took time and persistence to get a key for the place so we could leave the place unattended. Paid a lot of money for 3 nights. Expected better customer service.

We really liked this property. It was in a lovely location, and well appointed. There were a few quirks that we expected having read previous reviews, and with that in mind, we arrived and were really happy with the home. Pros: The view and location on the lake is. The layout is unique, but really utilizes the view and floor space. We saw deer, bunnies and a lot of different types of birds from the windows and deck. The attached dock was great for launching paddle boards. Beds were comfy, and there was plenty of extra bedding and towels. Lots of games too. Cons: There was construction going on directly next to us. Heavy machinery began operations at 8am on 2 mornings. It didn’t look like that was going to be an ongoing thing, so I doubt that it would impact the next occupants, just a bummer for us. The driveway entrance is difficult to find (look for the Vacasa sign), but after coming and going a couple times it’s no big deal. Pulling out of the driveway is a little sketchy because it’s low visibility and on a little hill/curve, but it is what it is. The home is older, and some of the appliances reflect this. I’m not sure if the garbage disposal is broken, but we couldn’t find a switch that would work. There is a bit of a funky smell, but I think it’s due to the home being a little older and being in a place that is pretty humid. Again, we went into the rental having read about this, so it wasn’t unexpected, and it wasn’t a bid deal for us. Pros:

We loved the house, the location and the swimming access, but who doesn’t provide beach towels or swimming towels at a lake house? We loved that the kitchen was well stocked for cooking too.

The Good: Great Lake location. Wonderful views from anywhere in the house with a nice big lake facing deck. Definitely a house designed to entertain. Also, if you like the late 60's/early 70's era architectural vibe and want to relive that time period, this house will do that for you. A very relaxing location and environment! The Bad: While the furniture and lamps have been updated, the rest of the house could use some freshening up. Things like light switches, light bulbs, door knobs and window security could use some modernizing without compromising the feel of the house. Also, they need to trim the bushes on either side of the driveway leading out onto East Devils Lake Road. There is no way to see in either direction without putting the hood of your vehicle into oncoming traffic. The Ugly: Other reviews have mentioned a musty smell, and yes, it is there. My wife is sensitive to mildew and molds and this house has at least one of them present somewhere. The main bath shower and lower shower have any number of areas water could be getting in a mildewing. This house definitely has a problem. If you are not sensitive to molds or mildew, you should go nose-blind to the smell in about 15-20 minutes and it probably won't be a issue. If you are, then I cannot recommend renting this house until the problem has been found and fixed.

This property had a beautiful view and nice overall set up for our long weekend stay with friends. Previous reviews mentioned a musty smell which was noticeable but not too bad really. The main improvement needed is in the overall cleanliness of the house. There were spider webs, dead moths as well as cat litter throughout the house in several areas especially along the walls. The coffee maker had an old filter left in it that had obviously been there long enough to be full of mold. While the location is great I would probably choose something different in the same area based on cleanliness.

We had a nice stay, but the driveway to get out on to the street is Awful and scary. Really need to put up a mirror or cut some trees. And in the house the lower toilet leeks. The TV is a nightmare need better instructions. Also there wasn’t a decent pan to fry an egg. Luckily I brought my own. We did really enjoyed the decks, the docks and the view. Oh one more thing my husband had to fix the kitchen faucet. You might want to take a day for little maintenance. Because it is a really great place to stay
