Lakefront at Lake of Egypt sleeps 10! Dock/2 kayaks 2 paddleboards!

the house could use a very good DEEP cleaning. !!.Bacon grease in a coffee cup in the cabinet!!. Floors were not clean!!Screens on the patio need repair!!!. garbage can outside had not been emptied since the last guest, which left a terrible smell !! .No mechanical issues, everything operated as it should. .Loved the view from the porch ,and inside views looking out. Beds were comfortable. Had to hand wash silverware before using!! Did not have any Dish Towels!! Would come back if these issues are taken care of !!

Inadequate towels, garbage towels, tv inoperable; repairman never came and repaired the TV as we were told by owner. Very disappointing. Good location, plenty space.

Wonderful lake views and amazing sunsets!

Rented the house for three years now. Very nice stay.

Highly recommended spacious home with waterfront access steps away with amazing sunsets. It had all the basic needs with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Dollar General is conveniently nearby for any supplies. Lake of Egypt is centered nicely to be able to enjoy Shawnee National Forest that has so many opportunities to enjoy the most beautiful trails in Illinois. Would love to come back to take advantage of the lake for boating and fishing (stayed in March).

THE HOST WAS ATTENTATIVE. THE HOUSE ON THE SUFACE APPEARED TO BE CLEAN UNTIL I GOT IN THE SHOWER. THE LINER AND CURTAIN HAD PINK SLIME AND STAINED WITH SOAP SCUM AND STUFF. I NOTIFIED THE HOST AND A NEW CURTAIN ARRIVED WITHIN HOURS. THE HEAT DID NOT WORK IN ONE BEDROOMS AND THE BABY MONITOR ALERT KEPT GOING OFF THE TEMP WAS 60 DEGREES. THE BASEBOARD HEATERS WERE A CONCERN WITH FURNITURE SETTING TOO CLOSE TO THEM. UPON CHECK OUT WHEN THE LINENS WERE TAKEN OFF THE BEDS THE PILLOWS WERE NASTY! STAINED AND VERY WORN. I SHOULD HAVE CHECKED THEM WHEN I DISCOVERED THE SHOWER SITUATION..... I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY FOR FUTURE RESERVATIONS AND I FEEL AN ADJUSTMENT FOR OUR STAY IN IS ORDER.

Good and quick communication, especially for a holiday weekend. Setting and location were lovely and I bet it’s really nice in the summer. House was big and spacious - perfect for a big group. Everything was clean, if a little basic. There were a couple areas that needed a little maintenance.

The host is very accommodating. The house is nice, but well used.

The house was very dusty. Dishes needed to wash prior to using and the floors where really dirty.The 1/2 bathroom door needs to be fixed and the linen closet in the full bath you need to be 6 feet tall to open it from the very top.

We stayed here last year as well and loved it so much that we came back this year. And we plan to come back every year. Beautiful views and a tranquil setting. House is clean and comfortable.

The house was nice and served our purpose. Everyone had a place to sleep and the living room is spacious. Kitchen is a bit small, but I was there to relax, not be a short order cook lol! The view is beautiful and the kids had fun paddling around on the provided kayaks and paddleboards.

Great view of lake. Quiet and peaceful. Host very responsive. About 30-40 minutes from SIU. Would recommend.

Really lovely home and access to the lake.Really perfect for 2 sisters, roomy and 2 baths.It took a while to figure out the AC. There are so manythermostats.Our biggest problem was figuring out the Direct TV.We didn't have a 10-year-old to help. A step by stephandy instruction sheet would really have helped.I couldn't find a hair dryer, but I'm not sure one was listed.Thank you for a pleasant break.We liked it a lot and might be back.

This was a beautiful and very clean property. There were some very soft spots on the decking leading to the stairs on the patio. Wood was rotting and primary bathroom closet door was broken (track issue). Loved my stay at this beautiful and extremely clean place with the best views and access to the lake despite any of those issues, I would stay here again! Beds were very comfy and clean. Communication with property manager was awesome I grew up on this lake, there is not one bad thing about it other than I had to go back up north.

Million dollar lake view, on active cove in July, nice neighbors. Their team is outstanding starting with Leon and receptionist-our small issues promptly fixed. Large older home with all you need.

This is a nice place to stay is a little worn. But overall clean, great view, plenty of room. Kayaks are shared with 3 other properties but is enough for everyone. We had a great experience.

This house is advertised as able to sleep 10, but if you have ten you’d be constantly fighting over the one bathroom. It was 100 a night so it was definitely worth it, but I wouldn’t pay anymore. Beds were fine. Deck was not cleaned off. It also looked like a DIY cheap remodel. That being said, for 100 a night, and if you want a fishing cabin for the guys this is a good pick. It has a nice dock for your boat also.

We watched sunsets and paddled kayaks when at the house. Daily we hiked trails at Garden of the Gods, Ferne Cliffe, and Giant City. House was roomy. We were fine with 1 bath because only 3 of us.Host was great.

This lakeside home was a nice get away. Star/Sky watching, gorgeous lake, Fern Clyffe State Park has trails, including wooded trail circling lake and walks to a natural waterfall. Enjoyed the quiet and wildlife.

Great property on a quiet Lake of Egypt cove...house was nice and roomy, with 4 beds in 3 bedrooms, a huge great room, and we'll equipped kitchen. Only drawback is having only one bathroom...if you have more than 4 people, that might get tough. Could use another, tbh. Deck and screened in porch were great. House was nice and clean when we arrived, and the check-in/out process was easy. Only criticism would be some wear and tear that could be addressed..broken trim on kitchen floor that I stubbed my toe on 10+ times, etc. Small complaint though!

I really love how peaceful the house and the area are. Very beautiful views of Lake Egypt. I love also how close it is to a bigger city like Marion so you can go shopping at Walmart or even go to Carbondale for shopping. I also love how it’s close to a lot of different/beautiful trails. We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful house. We really didn’t want to leave and go back to reality. Must stay.

The property was clean and easy to get to. There were several amenities available for use. Perfect for a relaxing weekend with friends!

Decent place. Only one bathroom. Needs a deep clean. Great location beautiful lake. Disappointed that is short two paddles for kayak & paddle boards.

Property was nice and quiet exactly what I wanted the were quite a few webs around doors and windows but not much inside at all. Place was spacious and had a fair amount of cookware laundry was conveniently located, and my family and really enjoyed the area and home.

We booked this because my youngest goes to a camp in Carbondale for a day and don’t feel like making the 8 hour round trip drive. House was clean on the inside, right on the lake, check in was easy, communication was great.

Check in was fast and easy. The house has been remodeled but in doing so the half bath was removed leading to half our group renting an additional property to avoid the 1 bathroom congestion, we had not been notified of this change. Issues and resolutions: The grill was missing the tank and dirty. We had a fresh tank and new brush delivered fairly fast. We were missing a kayak 2 paddle boards and paddles. They had migrated to the next door property and we had access to them before the you ger people had time to get in the water. Septic started slow running and was cleaned out an hour or so after calling. While we had these issues customer service was top notch in taking care of us. The screen room was the most used room as the bugs were biting after dark. Fishing was good and the neighbors nice. We would rent again.
