Lakefront 3-story beauty in Beachwalk Resort

Let me clarify first, the community management was super helpful and responsive and my review only pertains to this specific vacation listing.We got there after a few hours of drive to rest and chill, but the unit was a mess. Apparently the owner had decided that they tale care of cleaning the unit instead of management, and they didn’t do so! Management helped us temporarily stay in another unit while the unit was being cleaned, so we had to move twice and spend few hours waiting.The unit lacked some typical essentials that were available in all our previous rentals and we took for granted. Things like cooking oil, spices, soaps and shampoos, etc. and the grill ran out of gas on our second night after minor use. The communication was also very poor. We asked for an early check in a few days before our trip, management said they will check with the owner and get back to us but they never did. We also asked for late check out (check out was at 10 am) on our last afternoon, but they did not answer until the morning of our checkout.Overall, our worst vacation rental experience out of around two dozen experiences we had before.

The house had a great view of the lake. It was large and everybody in our party of 11 got their own bedroom. The dining table was big enough for all of us to sit comfortably. The kitchen had everything we needed to make our thanksgiving meal! We were able to make a fire in the fireplace and it worked really well. The host had great communication and the staff at the welcome center was very friendly.

The home was very clean when we arrived and accomodated our family nicely. There were several maintenance issues and the home is older and could use some updates, especially furniture and outdoor spaces. We passed along our concerns the maintenance department at the resort, so hopefully those are resolved in the future.

We appreciate the updated amenities/activities this year and the friendliness of the BW staff.We were disappointed in the Beach Glass home. The outdoor area surrounding the home was completely uncared for and overgrown. Inside, the main floor living room furnishings were very, very uncomfortable, and not clean. The enclosed screened porch also had uncomfortable metal furniture, no cushions. Updated bed pillows are necessary, as are cooking utensils in the kitchen. We had to purchase dishwashing liquid and containers for food storage.While we enjoyed the location of the home on Lake Kai, we do not feel we would recommend this home or rent it again unless the LR furniture is replaced and the 2 porch areas updated.The grill was in great shape and we appreciated the quick response to replace the propane tank. It would have been nice if the golf cart had been provided with the house, as it was an extra expense.Not our best BW experience.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We’ve been coming to Beachwalk for at least 15 years. This is the 2nd time we have stayed at Beach Glass (It was called Beachball then). We love being on Lake Kai, especially since I had to do my online classes this year and was stuck in the house. What a view! Since the location was amazing, we could overlook the rundown furniture (tough getting off the couches at times) and the missing drawer fronts in the bathroom because it didn’t detract from the fun. The place was clean and beds were comfortable.
