This house was so dirty, run down, and disgusting! There was mouse poop in all the cabinets, stains on all carpets, liquid spilt down the walls, food stains on the blinds, walls, carpets, floors, etc. The dust in all the corners, spider webs, and eggs….the kitchen lights didn’t work for the first day (had to use a lamp in the kitchen) until someone came and fixed them on Day 2 of our 3 day stay. This house needs updates, thoroughly cleaned, and the stained carpets, walled and blinds replaced.
Can't say enough about this place. It was large enough for everyone that came on the trip and there was plenty to do at just the house to keep everyone entertained and have a great time. We will definitely be returning
House was clean aside from some dust on the walls in the kitchen mostly. Hot tub was hot and ready when we arrived. Towels were small but plenty of them. Plenty of dishes and easy clean up with dishwasher. Garage parking was a nice touch! Overall, my friends and I very much enjoyed our stay.
This house had so much more space than we expected. There were 9 of us and only the married couple shared a bed. That was pretty exciting for the guests staying with us. The kitchen was well stocked as far as what you may need for cooking. However, there wasn't an extra paper towel and we had to look high and low for hand towels. There was also no extra trash bag. So, if you are someone who loves to be in the kitchen --- maybe bring your own or hit the store for some on the way into town? Speaking of towels, we each got 1 tiny towel each and there were no extras in any of the closets. If we were to stay here again, I'd bring my own towels, especially when considering the hot tub which was a wonderful add at the end of each day. We did have a few things come up while there but staff was quick to respond and they did get these issues sorted quickly for us. Our only real complaint was about the cleanliness of the place. Definitely think the cleaning staff could stand to spend a little more time making sure they got everything. When we arrived there were dirty towels in an upstairs closet and beer cans down on the back patio. Overall, the house was great and staff responded quickly. We would definitely stay at Misty Mountain Retreat again.
The house was comfortable for the most part. Ample space for a large family. The grill did not work. Both tanks appeared empty. I am not sure the last time it was used. You have to keep up with the dehumidifier in the basement, it fills up pretty quickly. The pool table was a great addition. The pool cue holder needs to be screwed in the wall. Need a new cue as well. Widows seal/frame could be cleaner. We had to leave a day early because of areal flooding that shut down the town for a couple of days. Our exploration was limited. All in all we made the best of our stay.
When we arrived, it was negative 17 degrees, but the house was warm and cozy. The gas fireplaces and hot tub were wonderful, the beds were super comfortable, and the kitchen had everything you could need. Would definitely stay again!
Nice location — we skied at Killington, about 30 mins from the house. Frustrating process with the property management. Wifi was not working or stove burners. Notified the rental company and was told they were “working on it.” No action was taken from the company throughout the weekend.
We spent a week at Misty Mountain Retreat and had a wonderful time. The house was spacious, comfortable and very close to Okemo/Jackson Gore. Would highly recommend this home.
This property is run by a large management that clearly has poor communications with their local property managers. My group was welcomed with a giant pile of trash overfilling the trashcans in the garage. There were leftover personal items like sneakers and moccasins, which were thrown behind the 1st floor couch cushions. Sheets appear slepted in and 2 toilets were non-functional. Brought all these issues to management and they kept telling me that the issues have been brought to local management's attention and that I should be expecting someone to come handle them. No one ever reached out like they said they would and none of the issues were resolved. For a property that sleeps 12, only 2 extra rolls of toilet paper and 3 trash bags were provided. Everything about this place is below expectations, especially for over three thousand dollars for a 2 night stay.
Our group enjoyed staying at Misty Mountain Retreat to ring in the New Year. Comfortable beds and couches with enough room upstairs and down for people to relax. Hottub area could use some work, none of the lights work under the deck making it hard to see at night. Pool table only has one good cue. Would recommend for any group looking to rent a house that can fit 10+ people
We stayed at the house with another family and it was spacious and comfortable for all of us. The house was a 5 minute drive to Okimo which was convenient. The only problem was that when we got there the driveway was not plowed and the management company could not help us. They referred us to the snowplow driver who we needed to call. It took him 2 hours to arrive. The driveway was very long so we could not carry our gear from the street to check in.
We took a risk on this property...as it had no reviews...all in all it was a good house. We were nine multigenerational folks celebrating a birthday for a long weekend (4 nights). Pros: fire pit, size, comfy beds, supplies (towels, dishes, glasses & bedding). Cons: Hot tub didn't work, neither fireplace worked, one television didn't work. If you are going to cook...bring EVERY INGREDIENT...not a spice in the place (which is totally fine)...but they did have every piece of cookware you could imagine. Also, it is very close to a Gun Club...so there was some shooting noise close by. We didn't mind - but others might. I did get a response from VACASA when I reached out regarding the hot tub...but it was never fixed. Not the end of the world. I am guessing they will credit me some amount. Also...it was kind of lousy that VRBO charged me a $200 VRBO fee. Not sure what that was for.
