Stayed Sep 20, 2025The house was pretty good, clean, hot tub worked and was actually hot. Road noise was louder than expected but that's not the owner's fault. There was a mouse who showed up on the last day but the owner immediately sent someone out with 5 kinds of traps to resolve it.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Overall we enjoyed our stay. GREAT location! The home was spacious, very clean, and has a well-stocked kitchen (although, many of the pots and pans are non-stick, and the coating is peeling/scratched pretty badly—so we just avoided using those). The furniture is both modern and very comfortable. One star removed for the following shortcomings—we called Tahoe Getaways as soon as we checked in yet no one came to remedy during our three night stay: there were no sheets/pillow cases to be found for the pull out sofa sleeper, and the hot tub did not work (looked like the breaker kept tripping?). Other minor issues we encountered…BBQ grill that is listed and that we planned to use was no where to be found (guessing it was under the 5+ feet of snow piled in the corner of the balcony??—understandable given the amount of snow in the area); the flooring upstairs has zero insulation so every movement upstairs is heard in the bedroom below; the sliding glass doors do not lock (large dowels are provided but really, maybe just fix the locks or doors??); lastly, the downstairs shower has a weird half pane of glass to keep the water insider the tub area while showering—but it doesn't really work with the tub set up since water just splashes all over the floor.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969This home is a perfect getaway! Extremely clean and well stocked. The furnishings are new, modern and super comfortable. The bedding and towels are fluffy and cozy. It's a quick 10 minute drive to Northstar but also an easy drive to Kings Beach for summer fun. Can't wait to come back!!

Stayed Jan 3, 2023My family of four had a wonderful 4-night stay at Twisted Pines the first week of January. The house was as pictured, the kitchen had all essentials to cook, and the home was cozy and clean. We loved having the hot tub after skiing and while it is not deep, we could fit 3 tall adults. It is important to note that this house lies south of Northstar off of 267 which has a 7,000-foot pass. We were there during a winter storm and you need a 4-wheel drive car with snow tires, or a 4 or all-wheel drive car and chains. There was chain control on 267 one day and the pass can be challenging during inclement weather. If you go during winter and plan to ski in Northstar or go north to Truckee, make sure you have the right car and/or chains.
