Hot tub was fairly dirty and no chlorine tabs. The water in the house smells very bad like sulfur and eggs. Had to get water at the local store to drink and do small things like brush teeth. Also when running the shower fills the downstairs with the smell of the water. Brought this up to the property manager and they put salt in the hot water heater. I am still not sure what that was going to do. He also said he did not run any of the water in the house when he was there. So this issue was not addressed properly.

The house was spotless upon arrival and the amenities were fantastic. Little touches like the record player and the espresso machine really enhanced the experience. The location is close to both South Haven and Saugatuck/Douglas, providing access to great restaurants and shopping. It snowed while we were there and the hot tub allowed us to enjoy the outdoors comfortably. Snow plow service arrived quickly, as well. Great location, great experience!

Great location, just steps to the beach and a lot of stairs. It easy acres to South Haven and Saugatuck.House was charming and clean. Beds were comfortable. Hot tub was clean, warm and ready for relaxing. We enjoyed the fire pit and the provided wood for burning. Also really appreciated the expresso machine.

This property was so unique and cool. A turntable to spin some great vinyl. High tech toilets. Heated floors. Multiple fire places. The screened in porch was perfect for coffee, books and games. A fire chimney crackling away while soaking in the hot tub. Views from the upper deck were stunning. Wildlife abounds. We even had a visit from a fox. Direct access to our private beach where we took in the gorgeous sunset with music and wine. The location of this home is so close to great orchards and vineyards. Modales is 10 minutes away as is Virtue Cider. The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of refrigeration space.

The house itself was gorgeous. Comfortable layout with luxurious finishes. Little details like the heated toilets and magic mirrors were a treat. The shared path to the lake stairs was easy to navigate and the beach was perfect. The management company, Vacasa, was super professional and communicative. Lots of emails, texts, and an app. The only thing that wasn’t perfect was the 10 am check out which felt a little off market for a beach house. But overall A

Check in was very easy and fully detailed. The Kitchen was modern and updated. Excellent coffee makers and even expresso. You do need a special size cone filter for the drip coffee and I read it off the comments and brought my own. None in the house.the pots and pans were limited and not great shape.

We enjoyed the location being halfway between South Haven and Saugatuck allowing us the opportunity to travel to both. The location is peaceful and tucked into a wooded areas so be prepared. This rental management group was responsive in some of our concerns which was appreciated.

This rental is gorgeous and perfect for a trip to the lake. We would definitely rent it again! The inside of the house was beautiful, clean, and well furnished. I do wish the outdoor areas were given the same attention; we weren't able to use the patio or balcony because they were so dirty. The grill was also very dirty. Also note for future renters: there are no beach towels available at the property, bring your own!

We really enjoyed our stay at Afterglow. The proximity to a perfectly sized private beach was ideal for our group. It’s exactly 89 steep steps from the neighbor’s yard to the beach. The stairs are in really good condition, recently replaced by the lovely neighbors. The house itself is really special. We used the side screened porch a ton, loved the hot tub and appreciated the outdoor shower where we rinsed off after the beach. The decor is a mix of mid-century modern and craftsman. Modern bathrooms and kitchen. The bedrooms on the first floor were warm, around 75 degrees at night during our stay in early July. The house has A/C but it’s not vented to those rooms. We used fans and did okay, but it was definitely warm. The house is decently appointed, but be sure to bring your own coffee grounds, #4 coffee filters, dish sponge and dish soap, and dishwasher pods if you plan on cooking at the house. Same thing with washing machine detergent and dryer sheet. Tip: The garage has some beach chairs to use, we wish we had known that ahead of time, we wouldn’t have wasted the space in our car. There is a Meijer about 15 minutes drive away, same thing with great restaurants in Douglas and Saugatuk. We personally loved that we were on a very quiet, private beach, but if that’s not your thing, just be aware of that. We will absolutely book this house again in the future, we loved it!

We loved this house! Updated bathrooms and modern kitchen. We used the lovely screened porch and hot tub a lot. The best part was the proximity to the beach. Short 5 minute walk down 89 new stairs. We will stay here again! Bring your own coffee grounds and #4 cone filters. There’s a Meijer 15 minutes away for anything you forgot.

Our family of 5 loved this property and all its amenities. The house was clean and very well-decorated. It’s a unique home with a lot of character and space to spread out. Being dog friendly was a huge bonus and it was so nice to sit out in the screened in porch. Private access to the beach was top notch with very clear instructions. The beach was clean and provided a nice area for kids to swim. The home also included beach chairs and water toys suitable for elementary to middle school kids. We’re definitely marking this house as one we’d like to return to!

The house has views of Lake Michigan from the rooftop deck and one of the beds. The yard is all fenced in and nice. The walk to the beach is very short but there are quite a few stairs down. There are beaches if anyone needs to take a break on the way up/down. The house has been updated and has a lot of modern decor. Very cozy. Comfy beds. Lots of space to spread out in the house. Everything is well thought out. Loved our stay.

We had 5 adults stay here for a high school friends reunion and this house was perfect for us! The house had everything we needed, was super clean, 3 fridges, plenty of parking, the beds were comfortable and we loved the bathroom upgrades (fancy toilets were a hit). We noticed there were 4 beach chairs in the garage, but we never needed them (good to know though). This house would be perfect for a big family or a group of friends trying to reconnect. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Our family had a great stay. We all slept comfortably and we loved the heated tile and seats in the bathrooms. Such a cute home and nice place to stay. The hot tub and chiminea were also nice since it was cool during our trip. Our adult kids loved the sunset on the beach while we enjoyed the view from the upstairs balcony deck!

We stayed at this beautiful lakefront property in mid-March. Over four days, the sun shone, it rained, and it snowed—and still, it was magnificent! It's a large space that still feels cozy, has great kitchen amenities, and was a perfect setting to focus on a major project. We were productive, inspired by the breathtaking view of Lake Michigan, and very comfortable.

Well-appointed main floor perfect for a staycation complete with sunroom/game porch angled towards the lake. Many windows and doorways expose the interior to the road or neighboring home-lots with no functional covering options. Semi-private garden includes fire pit but breezeway provides direct exposure from hot tub to road. Room-specific combination of radiant heat HVAC is user-friendly enough. Well-appointed kitchen featured a cappuccino machine. Hi-tech toilet seats were a genuine highlight.

What a beautiful home and what a great time we had… especially loved the screened in porch and watched shooting stars from the upper deck. Beach access too. Close to all our favorite shops, restaurants and activities in Fennville, Douglas and Saugatuck . Finny (our dog) enjoyed his first vacation. The fenced in yard was very helpful. Can’t wait to return.

House has all you need. Comfy beds and in a peaceful location. Be prepared for no cellular service. The house is walking distance less than 50 ft from the top of the staircase to go to the lake then there is 100 steps to get down to the lake. Anyone with knee problems shouldn’t book this place. I would book this home again in the future. Rated it a 4 star because of the price, it could have been less. Vacasa has a lot of fees.
