Brandon, Mississippi
One of a kind 1960's ranch style lake house with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths in Brandon, MS. The house has an open floor plan, sleeps up to 12, and has amazing waterfront views of the Ross Barnett Reservoir. We have 3 boat slips, a shallow boat launch, an oversize yard, and a fire pit. The kitchen is fully equipped and game closet is ready to entertain! There is a public boat launch in the neighborhood just around the corner and grocery stores are just outside the neighborhood. The house is located on a quiet cul-de-sac with unparalleled views of Pelahatchie Bay.

Just perfect. Everything as advertised. Easy process of communication with host. Spectacular location, quiet neighborhood, peaceful. House had all the amenities and was more equipped than most places we have used. Very clean property with expansive living/dining room area. Grateful for the opportunity to stay here.
Beautiful veiws. Through back decor.
great place
The overall impression of the property was magnificent the view was gorgeous will be using host again in the future.
This was our third ( maybe fourth) year to stay here with my parents, my brother and then my husband and kids. It is such a lovely home and we always enjoy our time together so much. There is a cute little walking trail at the head of the subdivision that we walk each morning/evening. The kids and the boys liked the boats that were provided. We fished our little hearts out. The kitchen and family room is plenty big enough for all of us to spend time together and there is a nice little porch room for additional space for meals, cards, games etc. Again, we love this home and would gladly come back.
Lovely location could use some renovations. Grounds need raking old grilling equipment was not cleaned. Screened patio covered with spider webs and needed to be swept down. Inside had a mildewed odor inside. The furniture in the living room was weak and stained rug. All and all we enjoyed the location and how peaceful and quiet. The beds we comfortable and clean. The best sleep I have had in a while. The family wants to return, enjoyed the atmosphere.
We had a great weekend at an awesome place!
Process was very simple and clear when we arrived at the property. Would be a great place to have a family reunion with a large lake front lot.
Our stay was AMAZING!!! This house accommodated EVERYONE; adults, teens and kid! Things that really stick out and intrigue me; clean house but even the floors (this means a lot, especially when its all tile), retro vibe (we love the smell, pullcord curtains, dishes, color scheme etc.), screened in porch was PERFECT. It did rain a bit so the kids were able to chill and play in the screened in portion while the adults played card games at the dining room table - ALL WHILE ENJOYING THE VIEW!!! I just cant say enough about this place. We will def be back.
This was a Beautiful Home. It is so well stocked with Dishes & ect for kitchen, you will have everything you need. the board games were fun as well . The yard was great . There are a Lot of geese & birds & its so very nice to sit outside with coffee. Close to all stores for anything you need. It was my grandsons birthday & easter too . It was just a perfect get away. The host were every helpful too . I have stayed a VRBO houses a Lot & this one was one of the best .
Loved the property, had everything we needed. Beautiful waking up to the sounds & views to ducks, geese & squirrels !!! Will definitely be back for some R&R !!!
The property itself is HUGE and has a beautiful view of the lake. A lovely nature spot. Two of us are birders and were ecstatic one morning when we were practically swarmed by warblers and bluebirds as we sat outside. In just two days we saw: ruby-crowned kinglet, three kinds of woodpeckers, Eastern Pheobe, Eastern bluebird, Pine warbler, yellow rumped warbler, nuthatch, chickadees, Northen yellow shafted Flicker (beautiful!), Great blue heron, great white heron, blackbirds, some kind of large hawk, black vulture, and lots of geese and ducks. The property itself is intentionally dated with fun retro touches, although some may not be in love with the vintage furniture, bathrooms and appliances. I took a star off cleanliness because it's a tad more run down than most will expect --- i.e., the toilet in the master bath is on its last legs and barely flushes. At least two people stated how much they would love to have the house and renovate it. On the other hand, this is clearly a family's much-used lake house and is well-stocked with everything you need and some extra touches like fuel for the fire pit and charcoal for the grill. The beds were comfy and and the linens were all nice. Perfect spot for a family reunion or just a weekend getaway. Although there are 6 double beds, there are only two small bathrooms so there's a limit on the number of people who can actually stay there. comfortably. We came for a wedding and this was the gathering place for other family in the area. Everyone loved it. Good communication with host. Hope we have the chance to stay there again.
The overall experience was quick and easy! Will was excellent and the property was absolutely everything we could have wanted and needed! Plenty of space for our grown children to be with us, after a few years apart!
Second visit to this property, always a pleasure.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Alligator Island. The house was stocked with plenty of kitchen supplies and equipment. The yard was perfect for a family birthday celebration/cook out. The temperature had moderated and a light breeze made eating outside on the picnic tables fun. Our grandson fished from the property and even caught a couple of fish. The yard is very large and has places to sit so you can enjoy the views of the reservoir. If a small group (up to a dozen or so) wanted to have a craft get together, the house has several card tables and large tables for working on craft projects. The floor to ceiling windows in the living and dining area provide beautiful views and let in lots of light. As a crafter, I was impressed with the possibilities for a crafting get together. This house is vintage….a perfect mid century modern house. They have preserved the house as it was designed but have updated appliances. It was really neat to be in the living room with the soothing and calming views of the water. If you want a quiet place with lots of space to spread out, this may be the place for you.
This is the second time we have stayed here and it's both times have been very nice. The kitchen is well appointed and had what we needed to prepare meals. There are several grocery stores within just a few miles to purchase food. There also is a small walking trail just a block or so away, and each evening we would walk the little walking trail. We saw lots of birds and alligators from behind the house. It was a nice place to sit outside and fish ( we caught a lot of fish) and it was shady. Such a nice place.
