Lake Front Northern Michigan Cottage with Hot Tub

Our host communicated wonderfully! Everything was clean. The hot tub was perfect, with a beautiful winter view! A fantastic cozy cottage where we even got to see deer grazing outside our windows in the morning!

Excellent rental. Interior was well stocked and taken care of. Lots of amenities available for use. The view is amazing.Good proximity to stores with food & household supplies.Hosts did an excellent job providing suggestions, notes, and guides. Hoping to return again with my friends soon :)

Very clean everything we needed was there beautiful view of the water. Definitely go back and stay again when we come back up.

Nice place. Had to get used to the electric heat. Accomodating host. Nice views. Only hitch was the hot tubs water could have been a bit cleaner.

Everything was perfect and just as described! We were comfortable all weekend. The hot tub and the fireplace were fantastic for a winter getaway!

Could be a cleaner, fridge was gross, everything was pretty dusty, one of the toilets was not cleaned all the way upon arrival. Some items could be updated. Hot tub is nice and outside area has a beautiful view.

The location of the cabin on Benway Lake was exactly as described, and it was wonderful: peaceful, private, few boats, and easily traversed with the canoe provided (we didn’t use the kayaks). Although our stay was late in the season, I managed to catch a few small bass and bluegills on my fly rod. The host was very responsive, and provided an extremely detailed instruction and information packet prior to our arrival. The cabin itself was a little snug but reasonably well stocked with appropriate vacation “staples”, such as kitchen utensils, towels, games, TV/WiFi, etc. My wife, who has some chemical sensitivities, struggled a bit with the mustiness of the cabin, and we both had trouble sleeping in the older beds; however, the couch was comfortable, and we were lucky enough to enjoy some nice weather during our stay (i.e. we spent our days outside rather than inside). Although the cabin was what I would call “cottage cleaned” upon our arrival, I did have to remove a significant amount of the summer season’s grilling spillage out of the outdoor grill before I could even get it to light, and my wife had to clean out the refrigerator before she would put any of our groceries into it. All in all, though, a cozy place to enjoy a nice spot on a Michigan lake.

We had a great stay, everything was accurate on the listing. We used the hot tub almost every night, which was a great perk, and made use of the kayaks and canoe too. Overall everything was perfect for our family of 4 and the kitchen was stocked nicely too- we cooked dinner in almost every night

Such a little gem! We were up north for the Paddle Antrim event and this was a perfect place to stay.

Home was clean, hot tub was perfect during to cool mornings, and the lake and dock were perfect for fishing.

This stay provided everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. We found the fire pit ready to light, and had asked for the hot tub to be ready for us on arrival. All was well prepared. Kitchen was well stocked. The property was questionable and quiet. Many extras provided- grill, canoe, kayaks. We will be back to this one!

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely house! It was just right four our family of four plus a grandparent. The location is excellent with views of the lake front the house. The path down to the lake is well maintained, and the dock was beautiful. Kayaks and canoe were a big plus - we loved exploring the lake and the rivers! The house had everything we needed for our week stay. It was an easy drive to Torch Lake and Lake Michigan. We would recommend staying here and enjoying everything this part of Michigan has to offer.

Everything went very smoothly with check-in and check out, and we really enjoyed our stay! Being right on the lake was wonderful and we were able to use the kayaks and canoes. While the cottage doesn’t have AC, once you open the windows and turn on some fans it was completely fine! I would definitely choose to come here again.

The rental was exactly what was described in their description. We live on a lake, but Benway is a world away from what we experience at home. The lake is peaceful and beautiful with very little traffic. We loved our time so much that we booked a week next year before we even left.

The first issue we had was the bunk bed safety. My 7 year old climbed to the top upon arrival and the railing was not attached and he went right over landing on his head. Thankfully he wasn't injured. If you plan to swim here off shore it's weedy and mucky. The refrigerator and coffee pot were pretty gross too. To add a very cloudy hot tub

2nd year staying here. WE LOVE IT!!!! The walkway to the lake is my favorite. My husband loves the fishing. The house is just like it reads. The kitchen has all you need. Its our favorite place.

We had an amazing weekend at this property! This has been our favorite VRBO rental ever booked! Extremely clean, cozy, and the hot tub was a big bonus! We plan to book many stays in future! Absolutely an amazing weekend getaway!

My 90yr old Auntie wanted a lakeside cottage vacation. Amazingly beautiful and serene, our stay proved a totally complete destination. Clean, stylish, and filled with SO many amenities, we ALL enjoyed it. Host provided ALL the necessities required for a stress proof stay.

We had a very nice stay in this clean, cozy house. It is in a great location to go to Charlevoix, East Jordan, many restaurants, ski resorts, wineries, breweries, and the quaint town of Central Lake.

House was clean, provided all the amenities we were looking for, and easy to get in and out of.

Perfect for a 2day stay, I can see wanting to stay longer in the summer when you can use the lake and boats. Jacuzzi felt great with the cold weather.

My partner and I stayed here for a weekend in between Christmas and New Years and it was lovely! The cottage is very close by the Charlevoix and other towns. We had a ton of fun exploring during the day and then coming back in the evenings to relax by the fireplace and in the hot tub.

The house is clean, well maintained, adorable, and has everything you need for a nice getaway. You can tell the owners take pride in their home. Communication was quick and friendly. Instructions for checking in and opening the house were clear and easy to follow. I can't wait to come back in the summer and use the kayaks and enjoy the lake.

We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the amenities of the property! The hot tub was wonderful. The private dock was lovely to have some morning coffee and evening fire. We had enough space for 5 adults to spend time together, and also have some of our own space. The location is central to a lot lovely town, hiking, wineries, and petoskey stone hunting spots :)

We enjoyed our stay in the up-north cabin. It's in a great spot to access Bellaire, Boyne City, Traverse City, and Suttons Bay (if you're willing to drive!). Highlights: Eric, the host, was very responsive, and the communication was great the whole time. The location on the lake and access to canoe and kayaks is so nice. The hot tub and fire place are great for settling in and getting cozy. And those quilts were so nice! Things to know: It's very rustic inside. The space itself is modestly outfitted, and most of the things in the cabin have not been updated (e.g., the pots, pans, other kitchen items, towels, bedding, etc.), so keep that in mind. We wished things were a bit newer throughout, particularly the towels and cookware. We had a great weekend at the cottage, and I'm sure you will too!

I had a great stay at Eric's place. The location was wonderful for fall colors and the house was clean. I really enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub. There is a wonderful seating area at the lake to spend time as well.
