Stayed Apr 14, 2023Valentina works in Tuscany and has arranged her mother, Ninella, to greet you at La Noria. Both women are warm and make you feel special. The house is large and tastefully furnished. “La Noria” is a reference to an ancient mechanical method of irrigation illustrated in the back orchard of the house. There is another orchard in front of the house. I would warn non-Sicilians that I found a small car best for negotiating nearby narrow roads and the narrowness of those roads made them unsuitable for walks. However, we loved visiting nearby Erice, Trapani, and Marsala. We also enjoyed Ninella’s very hospitable generosity : we were permitted to plunder the basil and other herb pots and were given fresh lemons from the orchard ( the oranges were out of season). It was legendary warm Sicilian hospitality.
