Stayed Dec 31, 2024We had a nice stay in the house, the property had very nice landscaping and the pool was fun for the family. Enriqué the groundskeeper was delightful and we enjoyed watching him prepare us coconuts with his machete! The house layout is a bit awkward as there is only an exterior staircase to the lower floor. We actually didn't use the lower floor at all since it didn't have AC and we were much more comfortable upstairs. The showers were large and had very hot water which was appreciated although the sink taps only had cold/cool water. Some suggestions to make the house more comfortable: a coffee table, a door mat inside and a rack to hang outerwear from (it rained our entire stay), another mirror besides the small one over the bathroom sink, some pool noodles or a ball for the kids to play with. And the toaster doesn't work! It was a short drive to the closeby town for restaurants and gas, and a 25-30 minute drive to Fortuna. A supermarket was just around the corner. Overall the stay was a good value.

Stayed Dec 27, 2024We had a good visit. Beds were comfortable enough. If I were to go back to La Fortuna, I would probably stay closer to the town. It was about a 30 min drive of country roads. The house was as pictured - but the first floor is only accessible from stairs that are outside- not sure why…but it meant we really didn’t use the first floor except for one dinner. Esp when we had pouring rain. We had to kill a few big water bugs / cockroaches.

Stayed Dec 10, 2024There are so many things we loved that I am going to put this into bullets:- La Casa Pina has added a new life goal to our list...walls that open up to make the inside outside to catch all the fresh air, smells, and sounds.- Every morning we would do yoga and coffee up on the balcony to watch all the birds nearby (so many to list, but don't worry, they also had some super handy reference guides to identify all the birds and animals we saw!). - We were able to make fresh hibiscus tea from the garden in the evenings. - We were able to find iguanas and cane toads (the Beware of the Frog sign is not kidding... but he was friendly, just don't touch or wash your hands). - The host (Christine) and her local contact (Carlos) and caretaker next door (Eduardo) are all lovely and helpful. The local man who comes by everyday(Eduardo) brought us fresh coconuts and helped explain some of the crops he grows in the area. - Chachagua (close by) has an amazing bakery that we ended up visiting almost daily.- the laundry facilities fully stocked was greatly appreciated mid-trip along with the garden hose to pre-wash the mud from when we got soaked on a hike (our shoes needed it!).- The pool felt so good on the sunny days and the surroundings are so peaceful. We took a day to just hang out here and enjoy the sun!- We had some issues with the payment system, but Christine worked hard to help resolve it, thank you.Overall, it was a wonderful experience and my family loved it.

Stayed Jul 29, 2024We had a lovely stay at Pina Pacifica. The property managers are wonderful and committed to ensuring your stay is memorable. They are local and Communication was great both before and during. Location is in a rural area about 25 minutes drive to La Fortuna. The town of Chachagua is about 8 minute drive where there are stores and markets. We picked up fresh meats and vegetables there. Also, Quincho’s pizza there is delicious! The house setup, while quirky, worked great for our family of 6. Both bedrooms are upstairs and have individual AC units. Upstairs had a kitchenette with small fridge and induction stove top, smaller den with couch and TV, and a bathroom/shower. Downstairs, there was a larger kitchen and island bar seating for 6, plus another bathroom with shower, large den with couch and big TV. Wi-Fi worked well the entire stay. To get downstairs, one must go outside and down the exterior steps and re-enter the house on the bottom level. My favorite feature of the house were the big folding doors on the bottom level that opened completely to the private pool. There is a remote operated gate to drive in and the entire property is fenced. The doors both upstairs and down do not have seals, so we did have some bugs inside the house (beetles, ants, roaches…this is the rainforest afterall). One area for improvement is general cleanliness (window sills, under couches). Hosts were receptive to this feedback. Overall would love to return and thank you for sharing your home!
