Fairhope, Alabama
As architects, our goal was to maintain the historic character of this cottage by keeping the original floor plan as is, but refurbishing all rooms for a comfortable setting. The kitchen and bath are completely renovated and , the original wood floors, stained beaded board ceilings and stained wood trim have been restored. The cozy front porch is a great getaway while watching the "goings on" in the neighborhood while the backyard offers a private natural setting for grilling and dining or just sitting or reading . The master bedroom has a queen size bed while the middle bedroom has a full size bed. The sitting room doubles as a bedroom with a twin bed as well. You enter into the house into the gracious dining room which leads to the living room and then the kitchen. The breakfast room is at the rear of the house looking onto the backyard and includes the stacked washer and dryer that is neatly recessed into a nook.
Just walk outside this cottage take a right then a left, walk 2 blocks and you are in the middle of downtown Fairhope with access to wonderful restaurants, shopping, library, groceries, biking, walking, swimming, etc all within a wonderful friendly small town. Come stay with us!
Loved the location and house!
This is a great location with the college right across the street. It is 2 blocks from downtown and you can walk to all of the downtown restaurants. Our only complaint is that the mattresses in the 2 bedrooms are well past their useful life and should be replaced.
If you want to visit Fairhope and not stay on the Bay, this is the perfect location. You are literally 1 block from the hub of Downtown Fairhop. With that said, there is still a neighborhood feel to the location and the landscping in the front and backyards offers seclusion.. What you see in the pictures is exactly what you get--a historic Fairhope cottage that retains much of the original ambiance but with an updated Kitchen and bathroom. The host was attentive and accomodating. If you are thinking of a visit to Fairhope, book early...this property does not sit empty.
Very nice, charming, plenty of storage, beautiful front porch and back yard!!! Ceiling fan in living room didn’t seem to work. Plenty of some kitchenware, but none of some things. Overall was wonderful so just purchased a couple items to make it more cooking friendly! Fabulous location, quiet and short walk to downtown! Loved it! Felt right at home!
Property needs personal attention from owners. Or those in charge. Advertised as pet friendly & fenced in yard. It had big holes in fence & completely open under the house, not safe for pets. Driveways so overgrown with landscaping that getting out of & unloading car was climbing through the bushes. A very nice property but needs follow up from someone in charge. Would they want to rent their own property exactly as it is?
We stayed at this property for a few months while waiting for our home construction. The property was in a fantastic location to downtown Fairhope. We were able to walk/bike everywhere. It was also fun to listen to the concerts across the street at the college some Friday evenings. The property owner was very quick to respond and address any concerns/questions. Would recommend staying at this location!
We enjoyed our month long stay at Keller Cottage. The home had all the necessities, was comfortable for our family of 3 and convenient to all things Fairhope related. Gina was very responsive during the booking process and throughout our stay here. I highly recommend the Keller Cottage!
Lovingly restored Fairhope cottage. The location can’t be beat; just 2 blocks to town. Beautiful area. I enjoyed the cottage immensely.
Warm, comfortable house. Excellent location for our three month stay. We like Fairhope.
This was our second stay at Keller Cottage and it was, once again, wonderful. The Cottage is charming and the location cannot be beat. We will definitely be back! Thanks Gina for your hospitality!!!
