We took several hours after arriving to clean - the handrails were literally black with dirt grime . Whoever you have cleaning definitely did a bad bad job!!!!!

Reviewer Comments: The staff at Beach Realty were great, and they did everything to make our stay memorable, but this particular unit had some issues. First, the place was FILTHY when we checked in. A cleaning crew came back and swept/mopped the common areas, but the bedroom floors were dirty, kitchen was really bad, and the entire place had a bad take-out-food smell. The furniture was old and the kitchen dishes and cookware were old and cheap. Kandel in the wind has great potential, but I would not recommend it.

Pack ‘n play, gates, and high chair were an added bonus. However, the house was not clean. A cleaning crew did come back and cleaned the top floor, but the rest of the house was dirty. Floors were not washed, one comforter was dirty, the showers had sand in them. Listing pictures are very misleading. The house needs a lot of maintenance. Futon on the second floor broke when we sat on it; we removed the mattress to find that the frame was held together with zip ties and duct tape. Almost all of the plastic chairs outside by the pool have cracks and one completely broke when a member of our party sat in it. When I reached out about this I was just told to fill out an accidental damage form. Pool guy came and checked the pool and hot tub but did not actually clean them. Layout of the house is great; it just needs a good cleaning and maintenance.

It is situated an easy walk to beach access although the steps over the dunes were quite steep and could be difficult to transverse for people with physical limitations. The house was clean and we found the labels on the kitchen cabinets and light switches very helpful. The kitchen was well-stocked with fishes, glassware, cutlery, pots and pans, etc. The flooring, both carpeting and hardwood, have seen better days, as was the case with the window treatments. If these are addressed, we would return. The property management was super professional and responsive.

However, the condition of the house was far from how it appeared online. The carpets were incredibly grimy, needing either a good cleaning or replacement. The bedding pictured online was not present and other aspects of the home were very dirty (inches of dust on ceiling fans and in air vents, random cigarettes and candy/candy wrappers throughout the house). Disappointing.

We had a late check in as the group renting before us left a significant mess requiring extensive cleanup. I will note that there were numerous stains on the carpet and a few cosmetic damages (broken window blinds) likely from the previous renters. Overall though, I do need to give kudos to the property management company for a quick response and deployment of additional cleaning assets. We plan to come back next year.

Reviewer Comments: We stayed at Kandel in the Wind with my immediate family, my parents, my older brother, and my younger brother and his family (7 adults and 7 kids total). This was a great space for us because we had plenty of room to spread out, everyone had their own bedrooms and the adults had their own bathrooms. The bunk rooms worked great for the kids. We loved having the pool available and being so close to the beach. Some of the previous reviews made me nervous that the house wouldn't be clean however we found it to be perfectly satisfactory in cleanliness. The carpets and other aspects are clearly worn from being used but that didn't bother us and we felt comfortable having children in the home. I would recommend this house.

The location of this rental was very nice, close to the beach and shopping. This was the dirtiest place I have ever stayed in. The vents and fans were covered with dust, there was poop on the baseboard in the bathroom. The first few nights people in our party had headaches from the dust and one person had to get a refill for their inhaler that they rarely use. It was nice being together but I wish it was in a cleaner place. We did call and complain to the management company who sent out the cleaners again, when they came they left the car running came into the house and mopped the kitchen floor and left.
